IndignentShrew - June's Guest Maker

Well! My first big publication! I'm super excited for this opportunity and I’m pumped to show you all what I’ve been working on!

I’ve been wargaming for 15 years on and off but I’ve only been 3d modeling for about 8 months or so. Honestly it was Makers Cult that got me interested in learning how to sculpt things, so I think its kind of awesome that they’ve given me this chance to give back to their community in such a huge way! My whole crazy 3d career started with some Feudal Guard Derivatives that were Samurai themed that I digitally kitbashed together and I think it's really awesome that my next big step is through these gentlemen as well!   I noticed though, between the lore, art and minis, that there has been a theme that is sorely missing from wargaming.   Pirates of course! And I’m not talking about Space Pirates! Nay nay me hearties. I'm talking about the classic pirate! Your blackbeards, your Kenways, and of course, your Sparrow’s. But I didn't think that theme could survive entirely on its own. So I basically took every aquatic theme I could think of and fused them together. Deep Sea Divers, Deep Sea Creatures, Maritime Sailors, Pirates and the like and mashed together to form my own unique warband. I also knew from the get-go that I wanted to make a modular set with as many options as possible. My attention was to provide enough options that  someone would be able to use this kit to field an entire army of crazy space pirates.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In terms of printing and painting these bad boys there are a couple things to be aware of. First of all, some of the details are thin. I made them as thick as I could for printing, and based on my own tests I think I hit the mark in terms of thickness and maintaining the look I wanted. That said, removing supports requires a gentle hand and a decently sharp knife. I had a great deal of success removing supports with an exacto blade, Clippers more often than not took a piece of the coral with it. With regards to painting the models, I highly recommend painting everything in sub assemblies and then slapping them together, otherwise you may find some hard to reach places.

For your printing pleasure, the Heretical Tide Haunters!    As of right now I don't have a cults page but I have set up shop on thingiverse. Im working on some content for the Spooky Bat people currently  but I’ll be diving back into Tide Haunters content regularly. Heavy weapons, demon troopers, Heavy duty troopers, and a walker are currently in development!  Come check out what I've got cookin! https://www.thingiverse.com/indignentshrew/about

The Makers Cult

Just plain georgeous. Maybe this is the marine bio major in me talking but this is my favorite of the month. Is this part of a larger set?

Ryder Frankle

I don't like Chaos Marines but I'll print a couple of this guys. They are very nice and funny!
