I've previously stated that Mage Meadowbrook from MLP is a more realistic depiction of vodou culture than most portrayals of actual historical figure Marie Laveau, for the simple fact of no on-screen magic being involved in her healing abilities. That said, it didn't excuse the show's inclusion of Zecora the zebra, and I understand the whole "practitioners of other faiths don't want it shared" sentiment!
