[Background Blog] Astatos - The High Priest

Hey Patrons,

Lets take a look at the next side character getting a sprite in Astatos, the High Priest mainly featured in Cerkles' story in Chapter 1.

Each sprite goes through the following workflow:

Reference document including any concept sketches, personality, physical trait descriptions, and base expression lists. [Reference descriptions may vary from the final cannon]
Design draft and revision.
Sprite illustration painting.
Final revisions, variations, and expressions.

We spent quite a while on different concepts to get the right expression to represent both the character and Makari-Hari's religion. You'll find his warm appearance is betrayed by his personality.

And with the High Priest, we've reached the end of the side-character sprites being added into chapter 1 of Astatos! While we're also hard at work on lots of content for chapter 2, we'll be working on introducing plenty of new features over the coming months. (As well as work on our other game too!)
