Even knowing it's coming it doesn't make it any easier... So the infected were chasing Abby and Joel but once the fungus in the pipes was disturbed they felt it and all headed towards that. I think it was mentioned in the first season that it is all connected like a web or network so it can sense someone touching it and the infected come. Abby finding out Joel's name was a lot less ridiculous in the show. In the game he freely have them his and Tommy's names, which is so completely out of character for someone who was normally do cautious. I love that it was Ellie's original actor singing and playing guitar for that song at the end of the episode. Fitting. The original plan was not to kill Joel, and one of the other heads at the studio left over it. Apparently it was best to turn the entire story into a dig two graves revenge thing. I think it works at times and in others it doesn't.
