Ome.tv doesn't want us around anymore. But instead of taking the L, we're leveling up! 🚀

The Details:

We had to drop support for ome.tv because they're being weird and super weird about it. But instead of just giving up, we're building something better!

This new version will work on ANY site that uses WebRTC in your browser - not just ome.tv.

Most Omegle clones should already work, but our goal is to create a universal tool that monitors any use of Web Real Time Communication technology in your browser.

All features that interacted with the website (like clicking the 'next' button) are no longer possible. Ome.tv doesn't want third-party projects on their site, has become unfriendly toward Videochat Extension, and refuses to communicate.

We've tried everything to keep these features working for you, but they just don't seem to care. We had a public backup plan for this situation, so we're moving forward with it.

We're splitting Coomeet Free support into a separate free extension/userscript and focusing on building our new universal WebRTC monitoring tool.

Most of you found us through Omegle - either you used us there or switched to ome.tv and couldn't find replacements for your go-to Omegle extensions.

We're not building yet another Omegle clone, but we've got your back and will support the community our own way.

No help with ome.tv bans though - fixing fingerprinting on Omegle-like sites could mess up things for everyone.

We're ditching the site-by-site approach for other Omegle alternatives. Going universal means we don't have to worry about sites randomly shutting down or big platforms giving us trouble just because they can.

Can it be detected?

There will be two ways to monitor WebRTC on a website.

Website-level, that we used since 2021.
Browser-level, a new approach that will eliminate all methods for supported websites to detect its presence or alter the monitored data.

However, Chatruletka (aka ome.tv, minichat, chatrulez) has been tracking who uses the extension since at least August 12, 2023.

With over 500K installs and 200K active users, there are probably millions of flagged accounts by now. Just don't mention using the extension while on camera and you'll be fine.
