There is a theory that 11 shot the dad in a non-lethal spot so they would send him to the harvesting area and then 11 will save him when the time comes. Front man observed Gi-Hun throughout the games and it seemed like Gi-Hun had a righteous cause to save as many people as possible, but then was disappointed during the discussion where Gi-Hun said he would be willing to sacrifice some for the greater good since it meant that now Gi-Hun basically saw the people as expendable just as how the rich people saw the people in debt as expendable, all for his revenge/vendetta against the front man. I saw a comment before saying that the Marines in South Korea do not use the MP5, but the special forces do. Also Dae-Ho he mentioned that he was in the 1140th marine corps, and they had an incident in real life, which could cause PTSD in some of the people there if they actually witnessed it. It wouldn't be the first time that the show referenced real life events for the characters (Gi-Hun's backstory was inspired by an actual car maker laying off over 2000 workers) I think another theory was that he could have also PTSD from childhood, with people referring to how he reacted as he was cowering and expected something physical to happen when Hyun-ju asked about the ammo. I guess we'll see if it gets explained when the next part releases.
