Massacre (III)... [Chapter 97]

All of a sudden Daichi stopped walking. “They are waiting for us around the corner” Daichi said with an unsure look on his face as he inclined his head with a bewildered look on his face. ‘How the fuck do I even know that?’ Daichi questioned himself in a bewildered tone.

“How do you know that?” Kanae whispered hurriedly from Daichi’s side. It wasn’t like she didn’t believe him, but they were still quite far from the corner.

“Our Lord is a great man, his powers are unfathomable… He brought Bella back from death. That explains how great our Lord is!!” Bella whispered with a fanatical glint in her eyes.

As soon as Bella stopped speaking, Kanae’s head snapped toward Daichi. She couldn’t believe that Daichi could bring someone back from death. Now that she thought about it, it made quite a lot of sense… After all, she had seen Daichi carrying Bella in his arms when the fight came to an end and Bella looked kind of when she was in his arms.

‘Goddamn, Bella! That was supposed to be a secret… At least she didn’t reveal it in front of Sara or Emiko’ Daichi grumbled inside his mind. ‘At least, Bella had the decency to whisper’ Daichi shook his head with a tired look on his face.

“Is it true? You can bring someone back to life?” Kanae whispered in a hopeful tone. She was yet to lose anyone, but it was still great to know if someone really did have the power to bring someone back from the dead.

Daichi didn’t answer instantly, after thinking for a bit, he decided to answer honestly. From what he had seen, Kanae is an extremely good fighter and she could easily become one of his generals. He also knew that he couldn’t hide his Skill forever… So, the answer was kind of obvious…

“No, I can’t bring back the dead and that is the truth, but I did bring back Bella from the dead. I will tell you how after we deal with the people waiting for us around the corner” Daichi whispered, making Kanae frown. After all, Daichi’s answer is contradictory. He said that he couldn’t bring back the dead, but he also admitted that he brought Bella back from the dead…

After thinking for a bit, Kanae decided to nod her head in understanding. Daichi said that he was going to explain everything after they finished dealing with the people waiting for them around the corner. That was probably the best she was going to get.

“Milord, how are we going to deal with them?” Bella asked and Daichi simply smirked.

“I would have asked you to use those blue flames, but it would be overkill. Let us deal with them normally. According to the members of Black Label, they were the strongest fighters, but we can’t underestimate anyone since all of them are armed with guns” Daichi explained quickly, both Bella and Kanae nodded their heads in understanding.

“Excuse me?” Even though Kanae nodded her head, she decided to interrupt Daichi. After getting a nod from Daichi, Kanae decided to ask what she wanted. “Okay, what exactly are these blue flames?” Kanae asked curiously.

“It is a type of Spell that turns her enemies into ashes in an instant while the flames are completely unharmful to the people she considers her allies. You wouldn’t be harmed even if the flames engulf you” Daichi explained and Kanae’s mind was blown after hearing the explanation…

“So, why are we not using that Spell?” Kanae asked incredulously.

“We need to grow… If we use that Spell, then all of our enemies will be turned into dust before they could even realize what is happening, but we won’t be getting any stronger. Bella is already Level 2, but you are not and right now, I am going through my Job Acquiring process” Daichi explained calmy, and now that Daichi explained it like that, Kanae couldn’t help but gratefully nod at Daichi.

Kanae wanted to become strong so that she could protect her group. They were the only family she had left before she could revisit their Orphanage… To be honest, she wasn’t expecting anyone to be alive, but she still needed to look, just for the sake of closure. So, she needed to be strong if she wanted to save and protect anyone.

‘I also need to verify if my theory regarding the unlocking of my True Heritage is true or not’ Daichi mused internally. For now, he had decided to keep his True Heritage secret from everyone. He was planning to tell his mom whenever he got the chance. Only after having a discussion with her, he was planning to tell Roberta, Saeko, and Bella…

‘I also want to kill them with my own hands, after all, if I allowed Bella to kill all of them, then I won’t be fulfilling my Job Requirements’ Daichi added mentally with a thoughtful look on his face.

‘That’s all well and good, but how the fuck are we going to handle 20 armed enemies when they are already waiting for us?’ Daichi wondered, but suddenly he froze. ‘How the hell do I know that there are 20 enemies around the corner?’ Daichi couldn’t help but frown.

‘It must be related to my Slaughter Instinct Skill. I felt just like this even when I was dodging the bullets and later when I felt Miki Tsuguri and Oriha Nashida escaping’ Daichi closed his eyes and released a sigh. He had no idea what was happening to him and it was getting on his nerves…

He needed to find out what was happening to him as quickly as possible… Daichi slammed the brakes on his train of thoughts. All of that wasn’t that important right now. First of all, he needed to plan how to kill all the people waiting around the corner with guns pointed in their direction.

So, after thinking for a bit, Daichi finally came up with a plan. They were waiting to ambush him, so Daichi decided that it would be almost poetic if he turned the tables on them. He quickly Bella and Kanae to a room beside them. The room was pretty large and it easily extended up to the place where their enemies were waiting for them.

“Bella, behind that wall our enemies are waiting for us. So, why don’t we surprise them by turning the table?” Daichi suggested with a sly grin and moments later, a similar type of grin appeared on both Bella’s and Kanae’s faces.

Without saying anything more, Bella quickly walked up to the ball and grinned savagely. Moments later, she jabbed her right hand towards the wall. “Bombarda Maxima!!” Bella snarled and a white beam came out of her hand and struck the wall…
