But in general - I never thought I would ever take his song to sing, I thought he has too different voice to mine. And he is such an amazing singer - Bryan Adams!
This song was VERY popular in Russia in the 90s and early 2000 - on discos, on clubs they played it as a ballad. You could also hear it in restaurants, cafes, radios, in shops... My cousin loved Bryan Adams, so I know this song from my early teen years. At that time I couldn't understand how anyone can like a singer, who can't sing with a clean voice???? I thought that that raspiness he had was only because his voice was too sick and untrained... I couldn't even listen to that! She also loved Bon Jovi - same thing for me - I thought he couldn't sing. At that time my favs were Whitney and Ella Fitzgerrald - clean and gentle and ringing voice!!
ahahha if someone told me about me singing Bryan Adams many years ago I would think this person is crazy! But now he also became one of my virtual vocal "teachers" - because I learned a couple of interesting vocal relaxing tricks when I worked on this song.
