Don't know if there's International Women's Day on the 8th of March in YOUR country, but it's pretty big here in Russia. Day off from work! Men buy presents, flowers... Women give presents to other women too ahahha!! So here it is - I'm Every Woman. This song was first recorded by Chaka Khan in 1978. Then Whitney recorded it as a cover in 1992. And it sounded in the movie the Bodyguard. I love both versions but as far as I love Whitney's voice and I have always been listening to her version since I was a kid and always was dreaming about recording it one day, so I did it. It was also requested by my patron Phil Schmaltz!
Yesterday we found in internet the Bodyguard movie in english. And decided to watch - see if we understand anything. (In Russia all the foreign movies have russian voice over. Not subtitles). That was so great to watch it in native language. All the emotions on their faces became visible suddenly, the dialogues and the vibe of the scenes became more real. I understood about 50%. Some of the phrases were pronounced so quiet and so fast - so I just didn't get it. But some dialogues were pretty clear. The feeling of getting inside of the movie is much stronger.
(Some time ago I also watched Dumb and dumber in english. And I was so surprised how many of those jokes in english are not translatable! For example: the policeman tells Harry: "Pull over" (to pull his car over). And Harry says - no it's a cardigan. ahahahah it can't be translated. So russians translated it as: "Stop the car!". "Why stop the car? It's not cold outside!"... )
Say hi to all the women around you!
Thank you for your support!
