You are personifying everything in this reaction that I felt when watching this episode, at least when it comes to the last part :) After digesting this for a bit, my theory is that what we saw in the end was the experience of the afterlife for Marc (and Steven). And I am almost certain that the goddess we saw at the very end was Hathor, Khonshu's closest friend, coming to the rescue of his avatar.
