Been Thinking About Trying Something New/More Consistent

As a quick update, I'm about two weeks ahead on where I want to be for this batch of commissions, but like...I have about 19 commissions, 9 non commission rp stories and the like, and about 30 patreon only stories that need to be edited/proofread, most twice (And I appreciate the offers of proofreading help but with my process I'm not satisifed until I've looked my own words over three times). So, not too bad but not quite where I want to be. Unless...
I was thinking about doing a bit of a restructure. Instead of posting all my stories as they are ready, I was wondering if having a schedule might help me get caught up, as well as give some structure for looking forward to seeing me post. One commission draft to Patreon a week, one commissioned story to FA a week, both on Friday. One Monthly Patreon Story on the last Friday of every month. Patreons will get to vote on two short stories in a row (Each 5000-10000K words, then intersperse with 5000K words from a longer story in three month intervals. I'd like to start this either this week or next, depending when I'm able to get my good laptop back.
Being my own boss, I'm always trying to think of ways to restructure that leave me less anxious while still taking enough commissions/making enough to pay the bills. Maybe by trying this out, I'll have an easier time with the goal with more breathing room to dig into that proofreading backlog. Also, if I get more done ahead I might have two or more pieces to post on a Friday type deal. That, and it would give readers something to look forward to if I posted on a regular schedule.

And yeah I average about 15k/week (I low ball it to avoid stress and do more when I can) which depending on the comission is one or more with time to do the first edit pass

And yeah, the goal is that I do, I was aiming for five a month but I think four plus maybe an extra some weeks should be a reasonable amount. I'll be aiming to take on 10-12 per three months, but then sometimes others ask for commissions that are worked on monthly through Patreon Rewards so I have those too. Worst case is I always have WIPs to throw on so that there's content. And yeah I think either 2 Short Patreon stories and additional words for a long one every three months (Which was what I was doing before) OR having a long one I pick o some of your submitted characters to star in and do so much a month might be something I do as well

2024-11-19 20:25:12 +0000 UTCwhen you say, "one draft per week on Patreon" you mean a new story draft every week, not update teh same right? so we would have 4-5 drafts and commissioned stories a month. sounds good. I wasnt really starving for stories, but knowing there is a new story on friday is something I would not be against. also, does that mean you average on 1 commisison story a week?
