Quick Update

Hey folks!

I haven't just chatted with ya'll in a little while. Figure I'd let you know what's going on. Wow. Releasing weekly on Roll20 has been kicking my arse. It's what I have to do to stay visible at the moment and keep my sales up. Roll20 was always meant to be my primary source of revenue with this being bonus income where ya'll can get maps on the cheap and just sort of be my backup fanbase (and thank you so much for that!).

Anyways, I've had to detach from the timeline a little bit. Modular Tower Cities #1 are coming out this week and #2 won't be far behind. Maybe next week, but maybe the week after. To build myself a buffer I pumped out 3 modular forest set expansions this extended weekend (I took a couple days off from the day job): modular forest roads, modular forest coasts (that do link up with the wall sets, those 4 bonus ones I tossed in last time were crap, my sincerest apologies), and modular forest rivers. They all look really good and I'm excited about them.

They're meant to be "fillers" for when I can't meet my regular timeline. Modular Tower Cities ballooned out a bit as I considered actually running them and looked at other sets on Roll20 and realized I couldn't make it a single set. Then I kept rereading my inspiration materials and realized in order to run them I was going to need interiors. So I did those things and made it two sets. Next to the ship set it has just been a beast of a project.

After this, I intend to go back to the timeline. I knocked out sewers already and I really want to do the Modular Mines set. This sounds like so much fun to me. I'm sure I can get some use from it as a DM, too. I have some cool ideas about having pieces that have "ledges" that go off into water, darkness, and/or lava.

Doing the modular sewer set taught me a lot about those smaller modular pieces, and the past few days doing the modular forest sets I've picked up a few more tricks. Depending upon my time, I'm still 100% on board doing the swamp as the next biome. Not sure about the "Undying wilderness" although I still might.

I'm on board with airships, still. I want to at least try, lol. I'm 70% sure I'll do that one. Trains are probably dead. I need to start making stuff my PCs will use.

So. What would ya'll think about a set of Modular Strongholds? It'd definitely be 2-3 sets. 25x25 squares that all attach in the middle to make a single 50x50 stronghold where you could "upgrade" a set for a particular theme. I don't think I'm ready for my modular castle idea just yet, the modular tower city sort of put me in my place a little bit. But. A modular stronghold set might let me learn some lessons and also do something I'm pretty sure my players are going to use.

I am going to do some modular winter sets, too, btw. I have yet to figure out what that's going to look like. My players are in for a long winter... maybe if I have the time. So I want to get that on my roster.

Anyways, that was a huge unload. If you read this, thank you so much.

Even if you just read this, thank you! I have received so much community support and positive encouragement from everyone. You all are the best.

I might do some random streaming, so be sure to follow me at Twitch.tv/mrvalor2017, the Fantasymaps Discord, or find me on Twitter @mrvalorisalive.

Ya'll are super awesome. Thank you! <3 <3 <3
