If you read his updates, he does have his private stash of chapters, but not all are finished ahead of time. This makes sense from the perspective that he likely writes enough of a fleshed out outline to keep writing ahead, but may not know exactly how things will tie in at the time. He is "finalizing" some chapters the day of the release, and that could put him in a bind sometimes.

Better run! You triggered a group of attack dogs! ;) For a bit more objective criticism: He doesn't publish five chapters a week; that's not a critique, it's a fact. An author of his caliber and experience should have a healthy backlog that would allow him to be flexible and publish chapters on a regular schedule. Now obviously, he doesn't work that way, and that can be for a bunch of reasons: -He needs the pressure of daily writing/editing to get stuff done. Not really plausible because with that mindset, you don't get as far as he does, not for such a long time with that quality. -He needs the feedback of the community. With the complexity of the story, rather unlikely; he needs to have a solid plan of action, or he would have failed a long time ago. -He actually has a healthy backlog but doesn't use it. Well, that's the most likely case. The chapters exist, but he won't use them up for unexpected situations, and why should he? People pay him anyway as long as he doesn't overdo it.

Writing a book is not easy. Keeping stats, skills, inventory, factions, threads and continuity over an entire series is even harder. That's why many series never get to the end.

Completely agree with the reply above. We've all be spoilt with all these consistent uploads which are free on royal road and we've chosen to support him on here. It's laughable that you're complaining about being delayed by a day. The chapters are still coming out in the same number.

The guy has put out millions of words over the past few years. It is incredibly difficult to write 5 chapters a week of quality work. A lot of authors take years to put out books that are the equivalent of 50 chapters. He's written 20 average-sized books worth of content, pushing through inevitabilities like major writing blocks and the fact that some difficult chapters take 10+ hours of intense focus to get to a point they're presentable. All creatives get some burn out and need breaks--he's not working 12 hours a day on some blistering construction site but this sort of thing is massively draining on your mind. If he wants to take a few extra days off a month on top of the weekends after reaching a high level of success, I don't blame him a bit. There's plenty of other media out there in the meantime.

Sorry just assumed based on a release times for chapters they usually hit between 230-4 est which is around the end of the average work day. But your totally correct bad on me for assuming nationality based on that.
