Chapter 1,276.

"Are you ready?"

"Ready enough for some exploration," Zac smiled at Esmeralda's eager expression. "What's left won't be solved in a day or two."

Eight days had passed since secluding himself. Zac felt like a dried-out plant having recovered after a long drought, filled with energy and desire to explore. New pathways had replaced the broken mess left after his breakthrough. They felt like superhighways able to transport boundless amounts of energy with unprecedented speed.

Even so, a week was far from enough to recover to his peak state. Most affected was his Void Emperor Bloodline. His actions inside the Void Plane had even greater ramifications than Zac feared. His bloodline talents and Hidden Nodes were severely weakened, almost like he'd been pushed back down to E-grade.

[Purity of the Void]'s purification space was closed for business, and Zac couldn't extract the Voids of Life and Death from [Spiritual Void]. Occasionally using [Void Zone] confirmed it was a temporary state. With every treasure [Void Heart] consumed, the nullification zone grew more intense. The same was true for [Void Mountain], which almost felt as illusory as when he first got it.

It would require at least a year of constantly feeding [Void Heart] treasures to fully recover, perhaps even longer. That was too long to go without his strongest ace, and he needed to supplement the process. Opening Void Vortices in energy-dense spots would be the most effective solution, but Zac was too weak to force one open in his current state.

As luck would have it, Zac had a new option: [Void Emperor Apotheosis]. The semi-finished method encompassing Zac's whole path could trigger his Void Emperor bloodline, allowing his cells to draw sustenance into its depths. The ability was an improvement on the experiments Zac performed after the Abyssal Pond.

The method's purpose had been expanded to not only advance his Draugr bloodline. Now, it could also nurture his Void Vajra Constitution and soul. It was how he'd slowly absorbed the Law-imbued treasures, and it should work for the general recovery of his void space. Zac didn't expect to have much free time during the trial, but he should be able to squeeze in the occasional body-tempering session to accelerate his recovery.

The Void Plane's wretched state weakened him short-term, yet it was only the second biggest setback to his cultivation. The Void Plane would resolve itself given enough time—if there was one thing Zac was good at, it was finding and consuming treasures. Fixing his Cosmic Core wouldn't be as easy.

Neither the Law-imbued treasures nor Esmeralda's sacrifice could fully undo the damage. The trinity core was successfully fused in the end, but Zac didn't need to delve deep into its complex pathways to find imperfections. The core had been pushed all the way down to Middle quality. Worse, it was closer to the threshold of a low-quality core than a high-quality one.

That was after using all methods available to improve the result during the core formation's final step. Gaining five or six more levels was his core's current limit. For most Mortals, that meant the end of their journey. There were no pills that could accomplish such a thing, at least not on the Frontier. Only incredibly rare Natural Treasures like the Endemyre Sage's [Myriad Paths Water] possessed such capabilities.

There were a handful of such items in the Intersector War's Limited Exchange, though few were at the level of the water. Even the worst ones cost an arm and a leg, far out of reach for most elites. Zac was obviously an exception to the rule, but even he only managed to prepare one before setting off for the Imperial Graveyard. The millions of merit gained from the Centurion Base would be of no help inside the trial.

Serendipitously acquiring the [Heavenmend Crystal] was a start. It wasn't enough to bring his core back to High quality, though, let alone Peak Quality. As bad as it looked, Zac was far from giving in to despair. He'd arrived on a continent full of ancient treasures and opportunities. They were bound to be more good stuff. If he couldn't fix his core in here, then he'd deal with it outside. He was still considered extremely young for a Hegemon.

Both the [Heavenmend Crystal] and the [Seed of Potential] from the Limited Exchange remained in Zac's Spatial Ring. Improving the quality of his core right now wouldn't make much of a difference. He was better off saving them until he was fully recovered. Ideally, Zac would have spent a few more weeks upgrading some of his skills to Late D-grade. He neither had the time nor blueprints for that.

Each level exponentially increased the complexity of the fractals. It wasn't long ago he pushed the last ones to Middle D-grade, and there had been no time to ponder on the next step. Even without the upgrades, Zac felt confident as he emerged from his hiding spots.

Gazing at the distant pillars with two sets of eyes, Zac managed to estimate his position. His bodies were almost on the opposite sides of the trial ground. His human half was closest to the Radiant, Indomitable, and Hollow Courts. Meanwhile, Esmeralda's pursuit had led closer to the Mercurial and Anima courts, of which one was noticeably closer.

Zac glanced at the toad, who was looking at the closest pillar with longing. "Mercurial Court?"

"That's right." Esmeralda nodded. "What I'm looking for should be in there."

"Alright, let's go figure out how to get inside."

Esmeralda grinned, and a flicker of relief appeared in her eyes. It was clear that she'd been worried about her goal. Being the greatest thief in the universe was useless if she couldn't interact with the environment. She needed a trialtaker, and Zac was obviously the best choice. Only, his agreement to help wasn't like the binding resolution he'd entered with the Undead Empire.

Zac could back out and focus on his own opportunities. There was no such thought in Zac's mind. Esmeralda had gone far beyond their original agreement to help him. It was no exaggeration to say he owed Esmeralda his life. She'd gone so far as to sacrifice her protection against the temporal curse to save him. Zac would do anything in his power to return that favor, and the first step was the memory city.

While Zac watched the rain-drenched tundra whizz by from the comfort of Esmeralda's pouch, his human form set out alone. He continued deeper into the mountains, heading directly toward the pillar representing the Hollow Court. Kator's betrayal had voided the treaty with the Undead Empire, but that didn't mean Zac would give up on the mission.

His debt to Tavza notwithstanding, Zac felt it more important than ever to get his hands on the Primo's treasure. It was integral to staking out a path to survival after the trial was over. Zac had a feeling that if he could get that item into the Primo's hands, then the Undead Empire's civil war would take a sudden and drastic turn. And as the Primo's savior, the Atwood Empire would acquire the protective umbrella it desperately needed.

A day passed without any significant incidents. Even so, Zac never lowered his guard. It was evident that the ancient continent held the same dangers you'd expect on any wild world. There was no level restriction or pruning of threats beyond their grade. The enormous hand was still the strongest entity Zac had encountered, though Esmeralda mentioned a similarly terrifying beast slumbering in the depths of the rainy gorge. It was likely the beast itself that was the cause of the region's rainfall.

It wasn't just monsters one had to worry about. The more powerful the environment, the more likely it was to birth unusual things. Zac spotted a distant mountain that emitted a hair-raising aura. Rather than a Beast Emperor, Zac suspected it was caused by a curse or Natural Formation.

They didn't experiment with any of the memory lanterns they spotted on the way. For one, they all felt significantly weaker than Terea's. He only wanted to interact with high-quality lanterns, or ones that he felt a strong connection to. Zac didn't expect to hit the jackpot again, but a strong light should have higher odds of valuable returns.

More importantly, Zac wasn't sure he could keep interacting with memory motes without a drawback. He only had four slots on the brand, and those were shared between both bodies. The brand's purpose remained unclear, but it had to be connected to the main trial. Eventually, he'd catch another trial taker to test his theories. For now, he stayed clear.

They escaped the rainy domain after a full day's travel, reaching a much more habitable region. Small mountains were separated by lush valleys, where streaks of crystal-clear water brought sustenance to the lands. It would have been the perfect place for human habitation if not for the somewhat sparse ambient energy. It was noticeably lower than the rainy domain, not much better than Earth after its upgrades.

"We're almost there," Esmeralda commented as she leaped between two mountain peaks, her passing going unnoticed by their inhabitants. "It's lucky I didn't turn around because of the unimpressive energy."

"It would have taken me more than two days to cover this much ground, and the pillars haven't changed in the slightest," Zac commented. "It'll probably take months to reach courts. Even longer if there are danger zones blocking our way."

"This place is larger than I expected," Esmeralda agreed.

"It's no wonder that we haven't run into any other trial takers," Zac said. "I guess that's both good and bad."

With his breakthrough dealt with, his biggest concern was his followers. Half of them would be like lambs to the slaughter if they stumbled onto one of the more powerful outsiders. Thankfully, running into another participant should be almost impossible so long as you stayed away from the beacons. His weaker followers coply look for opportunities inside the environment and memory lanterns until the trial ended.

The chasm came into view two hours later. Esmeralda's recordings couldn't do the scene justice. The bottomless hole before them was even larger than the Twilight Chasm, and the energies it released made Zac tremble. The remnant energies all but confirmed that the slain beast had once been a B-grade beast.

While deadly, the rife energies made Zac's cells thrum with hunger. It was quite close to the fake Fiend Crystals he picked up in the Centurion Lighthouse. Except, it held an even denser taint of berserk force, making it unsuitable for cultivation. His [Void Heart] might have been able to use a diluted version, but direct absorption was out of the question.

The chasm acted as a natural moat that staved off attackers. The only way to the city was the sturdy chains, whose glittering runes staved off the berserk energy. The chains were twenty meters wide and flattened at its top to form a proper road. Zac hesitated before the chain. Like Esmeralda said, the city was alive.

There were guards stationed atop fierce-looking array towers, and they spotted a few cultivators flying through the air. Despite not sensing any energy from within, it was possible to make some estimates of the city's grade. The chains were unable to remove all the surrounding Fiend Energy, so reaching the city would require the aid of a Hegemon.

Furthermore, they saw dozens of Hegemons in less than thirty minutes of observation, confirming they were quite common. You wouldn't see so many Hegemons moving about in a Late D-grade city. A place with this many elites would be ruled by a Pseudo Monarch at the very least. Approaching such a place was dangerous, doubly so as a Draugr.

It was a risk they were willing to take. Worse came to worst, and Zac believed he was strong enough to force open a path to escape. Esmeralda slipped back into the Shrine of Kanba, and Zac took his first step onto the chain. In contrast to Esmeralda's experiments, he felt solid material beneath his feet. Esmeralda was fine, so he continued forward.

A stream of energy poured into his legs as he walked. It came directly from the chains, and it helped him combat the chasm's energy. What little remained was easily resolved by rotating Zac rotating his energy. The assistance wasn't actually needed, but it was a good sign. An even better sign was the lack of warning bells or attacks coming his way. A guard even waved him over when he hesitated.

Whether the city was an illusion or memory, he'd become part of the scenario. As expected, the connection with his other half grew more tenuous with every step. Different from last time, there was no foreign set of memories that competed with his own. However, Zac did notice that the brand on his hand emitted weak undulations that harmonized with the surroundings.

Seeing as his Danger Sense remained at a low roar, Zac continued his approach. He fully lost his quantum connection at the chain's halfway point, though his strength remained at full capacity. A disconsolate roar shook Zac's mind the moment he stepped off the chain and onto the skull. It held a vestige of the slain Beast Emperor's might, and it communicated an indignity over having an ant step on its head.

A weak heart would crumble from the pressure. For Zac, it was not worth mentioning. He'd seen much scarier entities, and this one wasn't even alive. The guards perked up when Zac continued forth without pause, and he noted a glimmer of both respect and caution. They did nothing to bar his passage as he entered the city, though Zac stopped after taking a few steps.

His gaze turned toward the largest manor, from which a cultivator approached with speed that clashed with his portly frame. Zac's heart thumped upon sensing the weight of the incoming aura. The newcomer was an Early Monarch, albeit the weakest one Zac had ever seen. Even the Zecia Monarchs he'd seen during the war had sturdier auras.

Zac still considered escaping as the man drew closer. He wasn't quite ready to battle across grades, and not just because of his sub-optimal state. The gap between Hegemony and Monarchy was simply much greater than in previous grades. Any attack would carry a significant threat when imbued with a world's weight. Thankfully, Zac didn't believe the newcomer had come to fight.

'Is it just me, or does he look expectant like he knows you?' Esmeralda asked.

'Let's see what he wants. Get ready to escape.'

"Forgive my sudden approach," the middle-aged man laughed upon seeing Zac's somber expression. "It is not every day Black Zenith has the chance to welcome a heroic son of the Empire."

"You flatter me," Zac said, surprised at the humble tone. No matter what, the old man was a proper Monarch, which should command some respect. Also, since when was Zac a heroic son of the Empire? "I'm sorry, have we met? I can't seem to recall elder's identity."

"There is no reason for a young master of the Ironblooded Wendimars to know every little character here in the shallows," the Monarch smiled. "I'm Truga Ud, the mayor of Black Zenith by the grace of the Empire."

"Mayor Ud," Zac greeted with a slight bow, trying to follow the Limitless Empire's custom while digesting the information.

Zac's confusion couldn't escape the portly Monarch's gaze, though he seemed to have misunderstood its source. "A remote settlement such as this wouldn't normally have a Bloodline Stele. However, this old man performed some minor contributions to the local magistrate and was awarded an official conferment. I apologize if I ruined the young master's plans with my excitement."

"The world is full of heroes," Zac said, clasping his hands in respect. "And it's no problem. I'm not trying to hide my identity."

"It's just some small contributions, nothing compared to the awe-inspiring feats of Marquis Wendimar," the Monarch said with a pleased expression. "If young master don't mind, you're welcome to stay at my manor during your visit."

"That would be great," Zac nodded. "It just so happens I have a few questions for you."

Comments

Bah, Zac has three Daos and they even fit. Catheya for Death, Thea for conflict and Iz for… life? Eh, it’s close enough. … I joke but I’d totally be fine with it if it actually happened.

CringeWorthyStudios

Kator was the guy we loved to hate but now thats over time for real allies to unite, anyone he meets during the trail will be pivotal to for the entire story, don’t think we’ll have characters popping in and out after this… nemesis’s shall rise🥲 after all he’ll have to chose a side after this, everyone eventually does enough fence sitting. If you guys notice chaos always erupts when he takes a firm stance and he’ll have no choice sooner or later… it’s called determining the era for a reason…

Kirin

¿Por Qué no los dos?

jb qspam

That’ll be interesting. I’m still team fire goddess though.

liquid_helix

IMO, Tavza >>>> Catheya.

Jeff McCulley

Undulations? the action of moving smoothly up and down. "the soft undulation of the waves animates the scene" a smoothly rising and falling form, outline, or movement. "the road follows the undulations of the countryside" Umm…no? Pulses, maybe. Emanations, maybe.

Jeff McCulley

I’m pretty sure that marquis Wendimar is the ancestor who earned the merits, not Terea.

Luke Scheffe

I've read read everything up to before TFD returned 4 times by now. It's clear that the monks and even the system have a need for the zecia sector to fall but that begs the question why the system gave zac the quest and means to reach the Centurion base. My guess is the Zecia sector must fall but the system also wants the Zubor sector to fall. It's obvious that without zacs mission succeeding, the kan'tanu and Zubor sector would be the winners but with the pope dead or crippled beyond repair and the Eternal guardians tearing apart the zubor sector, it basically becomes a tie between the two sectors. It's ultimately impossible to make out what will happen to the zecia sector after the trial. It's clear the monks and system want its collapse but why? I'm of the mind its so the sector can rise beyond its current heights. But until we know the reason why it's fall is required other than "so the heavens can rise" it's safe to assume either route happens for zacs empire and what's left of the zecia sector.

Lex Luther S

If you think it’s “obvious” that the Atwood Empire will stay in Zecia, there are a couple of fairly detailed conversations you should probably pay closer attention to on your reread.

Jeff McCulley

I’d have to go back and look at exactly what the terms were.

Jeff McCulley

I think that looks s if folks are fundamentally misunderstanding what the Sangha are actually up to in Zecia. Go back to Yselio’s conversation with Sorothom (the Pope) for a hint.

Jeff McCulley

Well, present tense wasn’t correct. It was the expectation, so future tense.

Jeff McCulley

Would love to watch the baldies freak out but try to act calm because Thea is gone and Zac is an even bigger Chaos then they thought. Plus that is going to be a good reunion i think

Tyler S.

Cant wait for the Thea reunion myself that is 2 decades in comming

Tyler S.

Where is Iz? Looking forward to unpacking Iz and Zac more, and continuing Iz’s development as a character in the story.

liquid_helix

+1 for 'fend'. not sure about the tense 1 tho

Mike Naka

The possibility for Zac to assemble a proper mini army in this trial is real. All of his sealbearers, all of those he’s promised to aid, lost companions like Thea and friends like Iz and her sealbearers. I don’t know how TFD could justify any other flamebearer recruiting as many willing followers in this trial as Zac. Maybe other peak factions have cut deals but I imagine the closer those alliances get to the end of the trial the more tenuous they’ll become. It’s funny that Zac thinks he won’t be walking away with the grand prize lol

John

Or how hot the mayor's daughter is??? Jk jk.

Porter

I thought they talked about that in PVastness. Once Esmerelda accomplished her goal, she'd assist Zac.

Porter

don't know if tfd is playing 4-d chess or if i'm off my rocker. as we all know, kator was a brute, which is a type in the Grimnoir Chronicles. great series by Larry Correia. his early stuff was awesome. you should read it. but anyway...ok, kator's a brute, and would have been a good hound dog for zac in zac's future empire. he would be a good pawn on zac's chess board. but tavza. she's a different story. she's a bishop. it got me thinking. kator could protect zac from a big baddie, but i think zac would want to directly take on any big, physical baddie so he wouldn't need a kator in his court. kator prolly couldn't protect zac from someone truly powerful, someone that could reach out through time/space/dimension and put a hurtin' on him. but tavza could. so imho, she's a better court member than kator so here's to team tavza. you've converted me. now, where's the kool-aid? lol

Mike Naka

Kinda mind-bending huh

Mike Naka

Ahhh I'm so glad it's back. Just caught up on the new chapters and now I can't wait for the next one !! 🥰

Dwagyn

If you like, there’s a clear cliffy as to what questions he’s going to ask the mayor. Or which room in the mayor’s mansion he’s going to stay in?

Jeff McCulley

1,276 Suggested Edits “They were bound to be more good stuff.” >There was bound… “where streaks of crystal-clear water” >streams “followers coply look” >could look “the rife energies” >rift energies”. Or, “energies the rift was rife with” “The chasm acted as a natural moat that staved off attackers. The only way to the city was the sturdy chains, whose glittering runes staved off the berserk energy” >Used “staved” twice. Use “fended” for one. “Worse came to worst, and Zac believed he was strong enough to force open a path to escape” >Tense. “If worst came to worst, then Zac…” Also, to be clear, the idiom is “if worst comes to worst”, reflecting theoretical possibility becoming the actuality. “resolved by rotating Zac rotating his energy” >resolved by Zac rotating…

Jeff McCulley

I remember a time when it was cliffy every chapter

Thenais

The cliff is for the Friday chapter to torture us over the weekend

Thomas Todd

No cliff ? Feels strange !

Thenais

Thanks for the chapter.

Joshua Little

Absolutely! Def wanna know about Iz! I wanna hear from the reavers fraction on what just happened to them, I mean Kator dies and 2 autarchs are critically wounded. Could do a POV of every single member of Zac’s core squad right now too. Some of the other top candidates maybe? Absolutely best fiction universe IMO also! Need more

Krispy sock

When are we gunna hear about Iz too, been too long. I swear TFD could have like 6 other authors work on the series and each author write for a character or something. All this writing from one person is incredible. This is legit one of the best fiction universe's and I can't stay away aha

Chris

You do know there is a like button? No need to make comment section here a much of cesspool of useless TFTC comments like RR.

Christian Brock

It definitely sounds like the the mayor is reacting to the theoretical knock-on effects of Zac's actions in the mote. Seems reasonable that the stronger motes have more potential to impact imperial fate.

DrSubterfuge

It doesn't matter about zacs perspective. As far as the multiverses' memory is concerned, Terea not only finished a perfect breakthrough but also got to have one last conversation with her father and got those treasures which translated into her soaring on a far stronger foundation thereby reaching far grander heights than she did before. And this points at what Laondio is trying to do. Picking those of imperial fate that could have soared to the heavens had just that one mishap not happened. Ie: Terea and her breakthrough becoming botched as well as likely heart demons from what she witnessed her father doing. As for his weaker seal bearers. This obviously refers to those like Jaol, galau and carls wife. Certainly can't expect them to do anything given their paltry strength. Certainly galau is by no means a weakling but he's in a trial with genuine monsters like zac and Iz and Kator alone was just a side court holder despite being an Eonic seed and I doubt he's the last. And obviously the Atwood empire will stay in the zecia sector. It's just the first of many future sectors to go under the Atwood banner.

Lex Luther S

She'll likely need time to absorb the treasure but I'm certain once that's done she'll stick around. Afterall, that continent hasn't been touched by cultivators for eons and I imagine she won't be able to leave without getting the ticket out through her shrine on Arcaz.

Lex Luther S

Also, recall the whole reason we know the Primo's treasure is in the Hollow Court is due to Esmerelda asking Zac for a partnership. Because Zac was unwilling to accept if the treasure she desired was the same as the Primo's, due to his prior agreements w/ the UE.

Matthew Hay

Hawwww!

Jeff McCulley

The way it’s starting out, I’m good with however long it takes.

Jeff McCulley

Both Human Zac and Tavza (and likely Catheya) will be heading for the Hoiw Court. And probably Ogras, too. Meanwhile, Draugr Zac will likely head towards the Anima Court after he secures the Mercurial. Where Vikari should be headed—unless she started for the Holliw, expecting Zac to start there. And gee, guess what? Thea is a sealbearer of the Anima Court. (Along with Inda, the Enddmure Sage’s granddaughter) And I can only guess where Ventus will drop in. Probably the Hollow Court, so each body will have a cheat code—er, powerful helper, with them?

Jeff McCulley

Thank you!

Andrew

Carl completed his. Compiling all of the mentions on reread, only one of the sealbearers who accompanied Zac failed to complete his. There were four completions not named, so it would be one of Ogras, Ra’Klud, Bubbur, Ibtep and Jaol. I might guess Ibtep because his “quest with his mount” was never mentioned as having been completed. The sealbearers left back home—aside front m Rhubat—like Lissa and Boje (and three or four unnamed others) might have more problems.

Jeff McCulley

Nope. Esmerelda literally just said her treasure is in the Mercurial Court. Whatever said in the Perennial Vastness was that it was NOT in the Hollow Court, and thus no conflict. Vilari s treasure is in the Anima Court—though it was stolen from the people who built the Mercurial Court. Zac doesn’t care which body goes after the Primo’s treasure, with Kator out of the picture—but Ezzy’s ridealong spot is with the Draugr.

Jeff McCulley

C’mon now. He never managed to blow up the tesseract star. And that place was self repairing.

Jeff McCulley

a proper adventure…or proper rampant looting.

Jeff McCulley

“That's right." Esmeralda nodded. "What I'm looking for should be in there.” Which begs the question. When Esmerelda gets “fixed”, does she immediately ascend, and leave (or get booted from) the Trial? Or is she simply fixed, can now advance normally, and sticks around to help Zac? After all, there’s a whole bunch more looting and claiming to do!

Jeff McCulley

Bloodline lock. I assume he’ll open it after he goes to the Shores.

Jeff McCulley

From Zac’s perspective, she never used those treasures. Of course, Zac is very wrong about what’s actually happening at time. Like, say (I’m guessing), when he assumed his weaker sealbearers would just wander around in the wilds collecting opportunities. Or that the Atwood Empire would simply stay in Zecia afterwards. You see these more when you reread. Not coming up with specific established instances.

Jeff McCulley

“It's just some small contributions, nothing compared to the awe-inspiring feats of Marquis Wendimar”. Well, isn’t that fun? First, now we know that Zac’s fate-changing opportunities are cumulative, rather than isolated. He changed Terea’s fate such that she elevated the family’s line with her feats. And, assuming that the Empire’s peerage rankings were the same as the System’s are now (why wouldn’t they be?), she elevated the family at least two levels, probably more. Zac has gone from Baron to Vuscount probably went from Baron > Viscount > Countess > Marquis? Assuming, of course, that for the System Marquis doesn’t follow Viscount. Still, it suggests the Wendimar token is chock full of Imperial Merit to collect.

Jeff McCulley

I think it was behind a bloodline lock, so it won’t open until he advances his bloodline. What he avoided after the pond was advancing his deathly Dao a second time.

Luke Scheffe

Yes, Esmeralda is n draugr Zac’s body but they should be headed to the hollow court not the mercurial court. The primos and Esmeralda targets are in the hollow court. His human side should be headed toward the mercurial court looking for for villari’s treasure. That is backward to what he just wrote. No big deal, just pointing it out

wayne lyons

Hmmmm. So re reading thus chapter helped me come with some theories. Ironblooded Wendimars. For a clan that was considered declining, they're suddenly given such a great epitaph and zac is even considered a holy son of the empire and scion of said clan. Makes me wonder if zac changing Terea's fate in the multiverses memories affects even these motes memories and with the brand zac has, he's considered a scion of their clan. And the motes qualities as well. Maybe the higher quality a mote, the greater impact changing its fate will have on the imperial fate. With zacs actions, Terea Wendimar likely ascended to monarchy after exchanging her imperial merit. Along with the treasures from her father, she exploded forth and likely reached peak autarchy or maybe even supremacy. Having an extraordinary effect.

Lex Luther S

He'll likely use the one from the merit store but save the one he got from Terea's father till it's at high or maybe even Peak quality. Hell he might save it for after his breakthrough to Peak hegemony given the sheer quality of that item

Lex Luther S

Feels like we might be in for the longest arc since integration arc. I doubt it'll be that insanely long but I'm seeing 150-200 chapters for all the sheer epicness of the ultom trials and whatever Laondio has in motion.

Lex Luther S

Given the quality of those core bosting treasures, Zach should hold onto them. Boost his core in other ways and THEN use the treasures.

The Lost Pages

No. Esmeraldas shrine is in draugr zacs body and from that space, she nudged them to where she felt the call of the item she needs when they were on that river. zacs human body continued on the route they were both originally on, placing him near those 3 courts. Regardless of which body it is, they're both under order to aid with the primos goal, at least before Kator broke the contract.

Lex Luther S

Facts. With 2100+ luck, an expert thief, and his strength, the coming adventures are gonna be fun. Feels good to as it's been a long while since we've seen zac have an adventure.

Lex Luther S

He likely won't mess with it till monarchy or if his life side gets to strong, breaking the balance.

Lex Luther S

What happened to eoz impartment? After the abyssal pond he didn’ open it because he didn’t want his death imbalance to grow but I don’t remember it ever being mentioned after that.

wayne lyons

Love the chaper can't wait to see what treasures and fights are to come. In the hurricane rn and power went out the exact moment this chapter came out lol

Gage Gros

Bets on how long it will take before he blows the place up?

Akastor

He finished his Seal by killing Petrus as he got his wounds shortly after getting his second part. I'm more worried for Ibtep, Jaol and Carl's wife (Lissa?).

Hartmann

Any bets on how long it will take Zac to blow up the city?

Esch

I think u have the courts backwards. Isn’t draugr Zac destination the hollow court?

wayne lyons

Rubat is probably on one of the outer islands of the trial, since he had an incomplete seal.

X_XSilver

Split scenarios for the bodies, he may have some stories to share with Ogras when this is over, both having a double severance and all. Curious who he will run into while enjoying the feasts of treasures thrust upon him. And then theres life Zac and the trials to face in the Hollowed court.

Tyler S.

Ohhh, what a chapter. We're finally getting into the trial, and I can't wait for Fridays chapter. About his core; like zac, I have no doubt it'll be fixed. He's already got 2 items of incredible quality to bump it's grade to the limits of Middle quality or maybe back to high quality and I've no doubt he'll find some good treasures whether from the motes, ruins left around or just some extraordinary natural treasures, especially given his obscene 2100+ luck. Fuckin monster. As for his bloodline, it should be back and running after a month or two of travel through such a grand continent given he and esmeralda will certainly find plenty of opportunities. And given she only has eyes for the Mercurial Court at the moment, she's likely willing to give him any treasures she nabs that's useful for him. Well, it seems this arc will be jumping back and forth between his human and draugr bodies so twice the looting man. Also, looking forward to Tavza and Human zac meeting, especially since I'm certain the chaos plaguing her personal abyss will be of great use to zac. And I'm willing to bet she'll find human zac pretty fast.

Lex Luther S

Seems this first segment of the trial is gonna involve a lot of role-play! I'm curious how long it's gonna take for Zac to stumble on his required goodies XD

PapaJohn

Oh man, this might be a gloriously tasty arc. Here we go.
