Chapter 445.

[Seventh Floor Complete. Upgrading Title.]

[Choose Reward: Evolution of [Verun’s Bite], Duplicity Core Upgrade to E-Grade, Upgrade of Port Atwood to World Capital]

[Additional Reward 8th place: Limited Title Slots +1, Peak F-Grade All Attribute fruit]

Zac’s pitch-black eyes went back and forth between the three choices, the pain and exhaustion almost completely blown away. Then again, the black dimension seemed to have some sort of suppressive effect on wounds, so he probably wouldn’t be as chipper when he left this place.

A quick look down at his chest proved that the crazy girl had left a burn-mark that almost looked like a fractal, but the wound showed no signs at spreading at least. However, that didn't provide much comfort, as there had obviously been something off about that piece of flame she had shot at him.

His best guess was that she had formed some sort of Karmic Tie to him for some reason. Iz Tayn came from some top tier force though, and Zac hoped that the distance to his remote sector would prove too far away to make it worth tracking him down. If it was even possible since she was just an F-Grade cultivator.

However, the encounter with the crazy flame girl wasn't enough to put a damper on his feelings at the moment. He had passed the 7th floor, a feat that only happened once every few millennia in a star sector with trillions of cultivators. And were no two ways around it, these rewards were amazing.

Better yet, they were clearly custom-made for himself, which was a first since he entered the tower. The reward for clearing the 6th floor had been pretty great too, but it was still something generalized apart from the compatibility.

Was it because he had cleared a high-tiered floor, or was it because there had been a special event?

Even better, there was actually a bonus reward for reaching the 8th place, and it provided something he had never even heard of before. Getting a fourth slot for a Limited Titles was an extremely powerful boon, and Zac started to understand why so many had been fighting tooth and nail even to the point that some died.

Getting another spot for Limited Titles wasn’t as simple as having another title. If that was it then Zac wouldn’t have been so excited, since he already had thirty of them. Limited Titles had never been too important for Zac until now, simply because he hadn’t encountered any such opportunities so far.

But Galau had properly described the roles of Limited Titles during their climb. The merchant had already confirmed that getting real titles would get harder and harder, and most people got almost 80% of their titles during the F-Grade. That’s why some called normal titles ‘Foundational Titles’. They set the foundation for your entire cultivation journey.

Limited Titles were something that you could continuously improve though, and there was almost an unlimited number of opportunities for such titles in the Multiverse. They were the lure the System used to keep luring cultivators into deadly trials and unexplored Mystic Realms, and they just kept getting better the more dangerous the trial was.

One single Limited Title snatched from a deadly D-Grade trial might be even better than the Tower-title he had worked for the past 70 days. Getting another Limited Title slot was essentially getting a 15-20% boost to your power, provided you could get a good title that provided Efficiency.

The reward might not be useful at the moment, but Zac would quickly be able to acquire a few Limited Titles after leaving Earth. As for the scions who risked their lives, it was understandable as well. This was a reward that no amount of treasures, wealth, or guidance could provide, and they no doubt had a bunch of top-quality Limited Titles to choose from through their forces.

Not only that, the System even threw in a small bonus in the form of an All Attribute fruit, which was equivalent to a pretty good Low-Tiered Title. That was the most valuable of all the Attribute fruits, even more so than Luck Fruits. Zac was extremely thankful that he didn’t give in to the fear in his heart that told him to cut his losses after narrowly surviving his soul getting crushed.

The rewards from this floor alone far eclipsed the rewards from the first six floors combined.

It also made him wonder just what the others received. Take Iz Tayn for example. She was already strong to the point that it felt like she had somehow snuck inside the Tower while being E-Grade. Just what level would she reach after getting her individualized reward plus whatever reward was awarded the first spot. Did she get multiple Limited Title slots?

Remembering the traumatizing encounter where he almost died made him think of something else, and he reluctantly turned his eyes away from the rewards. Zac wasn’t ready to immediately make a choice what to pick, so he first opened his Status screen to check something, and just as expected he had taken a huge step forward.

Zac’s stared with confusion at his attributes, unable to compute the changes for a few seconds. It was a welcome problem through; he had gained too many points. He already knew he would get a small boost from fusing his last two Dao Seeds, but that alone couldn’t explain the growth. But he soon enough realized what was going on as he kept opening menus.

The first thing he checked was the Dao Menu. He had taken a quick look during the Battle Royale, but he didn’t have the time to properly look at the attributes at that time.

Gaining the Fragment of the Bodhi was all thanks to the [Prajñā Cherry], and Zac wondered if the Zethaya had even known the true value of that thing since Boje had considered a soul-healing treasure. Then again, they did cherish it to the point that they weren’t willing to part with it for money, so they probably knew that wasn’t the limits of its capabilities.

There wasn’t a lot of change to his attributes as far as Zac could remember, with the fragment essentially only adding the +10 to all attributes and a little bit of Wisdom. However, he immediately noticed how similar its distribution it was to the Fragment of the Coffin. The weight of attributes was almost identical, with just the focus on Endurance and Vitality being switched.

Getting the Fragment of the Bodhi rather than something like the Grove or the Forest was a bit unexpected, but perhaps not as much as getting the Coffin. Zac had read up on Buddhism a bit since learning that it was an actual cultivation system in the multiverse, so he knew a little bit of what the word represented.

The Bodhi was a divine tree that the Buddha gained enlightenment under, and the word was the term for true Enlightenment, the escape from the cycle of reincarnation. The only issue was that such a Dao sounded related to Buddhism, and he wasn’t sure how good a fit that would be to his current cultivation path.

Ogras had joked about him embarking on the path of ascetic cultivation like a monk, but he wasn’t ready to take a wove of silence just yet.

But his instincts told him that it wouldn’t be an issue. The name of a Dao Fragment wasn't important, what mattered were the concepts the Fragment contained. The main focus of the vision hadn’t been the Buddhist praying, but rather how the cherry tree had changed after the blessing. It had turned into a divine tree that became the guardian of the desolate badlands.

It didn’t only provide the whole area with vitality, but it also empowered everything within its domain. Normal weeds and grasses had become full of life and power, quickly growing far stronger than they would be able to on their own. From what Zac could tell the healing he had enjoyed was just part of the picture. The fragment might have a huge impact on his Hatchetman class, as many of its skills were related to nature.

What would happen if he turned the wooden hand of [Nature's Punishment] into a divine hand?

Getting the third Fragment early was a huge relief to Zac, and it took a lot of pressure off. It was a shame that it came at the cost of the Soul Mending Medicine, but now that he had passed the Seventh floor he should have a stronger position for bargaining when he exited. Perhaps he could buy another one off the hands from some powerful clan who wanted to make a connection with him.

It also meant that the chance of gaining something from the Tower Apparition was a lot higher since he now could upgrade any of his three Fragments. Ideally, he wanted to upgrade the Fragment of the Axe, but it wasn’t completely necessary at this point. Any of the three would allow him to gain an arcane class, as long as the System considered his new path to be unique enough to be called a ‘creation’.

He couldn’t wait to experiment some with his new fragment during his ascent of the 8th floor. He had finally managed to use the bronze flash for something useful just now, and it had been shockingly effective. It felt like confirmation that he was on the right path, and he needed to capture the moment of inspiration and expand it to his new Fragment as well.

Of course, getting the final Dao Fragment wasn’t the only surprising gain from the 7th floor. He had not only upgraded his Tower Title, but he had actually gained another one, the first one in a good while. He had assumed that he wouldn’t get any more titles before evolving unless he got something from his massive pool of luck, but it appeared he had underestimated himself.

[Tower of Eternity - 7th Floor: Reach the 64th level of the Tower of Eternity. Reward: All stats +10, All Stats +10%, Effect of Attributes +5%]

[Heaven's Triumvirate: Attain three Dao Fragments while still at F-Grade. Reward: All stats +5. All Stats +5%. Effect of Attributes +5%]

The Tower-title had upgraded, but not quite as expected. It had immediately given him +5% all efficiency, rather than just for his three main attributes. That meant one would probably get the perfect 10/10/10 from completing the 8th floor. But then what would happen on the 9th? Did it provide a separate title?

The guy earlier had mentioned ‘tower breakers’, and from context it sounded like someone who would be able to defeat the whole Tower of Eternity. Was Tower Breaker perhaps the name of not only the achievement, but an actual title?

Zac unfortunately knew that the 9th floor was out of his reach unless the rules drastically changed on the final floor. The progression of strength had been pretty even during the climb, and he knew that he would start entering true life-and-death battles on the 8th floor.

Even the defeating guardian wasn’t a given, and he had already decided to start looking for clues to amazing inheritances as a back-up.

Time was a precious resource, so Zac held off on choosing a reward a while longer and instead to sit down and recuperate while he was in this special zone. Getting chased down by Iz Tayn had only worsened his wounds from the battle with Faceless #9, and he needed to give himself and his poor shield some time to rest up.

[Everlasting] almost looked like a melted clump of metal, but it was truly a tenacious item as it was slowly regaining its original shape. Just like his body, it would probably be in serviceable condition within a few hours.

However, the situation with his soul wasn’t as easy to fix. The verdant glow had completely disappeared by now, leaving his soul whole. But his soul had inexorably changed after the experience. It was now crisscrossed by black lines where the fractures once were, reminiscent of a Kintsugi bowl. There were also some splotches here and there, marring the picture even further.

He had already felt the effect during the battle earlier, where bloodlust had coursed through his body, almost to the point that he was ready to run straight into a sun. Zac was afraid that the effect would only become worse as the corruption grew. The energies might even start damaging the miasmic runes from the outside.

He quickly needed to find a solution.

Mark Davies

Man soon much exposition filler.

Emby

*googles Kintsugi bowl* Me: ... *dies of laughter*

Arexio R.

The picture was a good idea. Those three choices are going to make for a really hard decision. I don't even know what I'd choose.

Use svg format for the images, it will resize based on the device

maybe he wont pick that atribute fruit :)

Bram Haver

I’m guessing that his status that we’re shown is before eating the all attribute fruit, right?

Luke Scheffe

Gotta remember his schedule is that he’s off on Sunday, so I think he tries to make info dump/ simple chapters drop on Saturday so he’s not leaving his fans on cliffhangers.

Gremory

Images are fine but optimize them for mobile. They are rather small at the moment.

The Lost Pages

Doesn't most of the chapters in this tower fells like complete filler /info dump? I mean the current chapter is just him sitting and bla bla bla nothing happen at all, no decision, nothing ?

Exal

You know, when Zac and Ogras leave the tower they’re going to have a golden opportunity to raid all the cosmo sacks and defensive arrays they can carry. While Zac is laying waste to the town Ogras can slither in the shadows checking the bodies of the fallen for their treasures.

Maniac000

"take a wove of silence" --> vow?

Cadastral

Loved the pictures. Thanks for the chapter

ShadowOfHavoc

True, comment section is popping off this time.

The picture is great, keeps using it.

IAVL

The pics are great!

Nathan Simon

man some of you all need to come over to the discord. Patreon is waaaaay too difficult of a comment board to navigate 200+ comments

gotag

The pic are harder to read on my phone

VoiceMaxed

That would be optimal and what I want to happen...

Juli Freixi

He might get above 1k with the fruit. If he passes 250 luck then he could get an upgrade to omnidextrous that pushes him above 1k. Or maybe it just increases efficiency of the stats more

Val

New thought: it said earlier that his dao fragments/seeds were being split between the possible draugr/human class advancements. What if a greater duplicity core allowed for the axe fragment to be used by both the draugr and human class, which would let him have potentially two arcane level classes

Patrick Chang

I appreciate the Status Picture

The last peak fruit he had was an str fruit and it gave +7strength. This one should give between 4 and 7 too all his stats.

Frardowin

Its 243, but 155% effectiveness meaning its like.. 377?

ZaA

I prefer text for status

VoiceMaxed

What does the attribute fruit do? Just give his stats a small point bump or a % bump?

Maniac000

Core would get him an upgraded title, He needs to be evolved to upgrade his specialty core to e grade. The upgraded core title would probably push his strength over 1k, for another title. Then there would be the effects the core itself would have, like possibly: Faster change Unified F-grade Skills for each form. Who knows what else. Vaun's bite to D would one of 3 possibilities: 1- D grade axe zac can use for the rest of the tower. 2-D-grade axe that can only be used as an e-grade weapon, because the tower hard caps offensive and defensive treasure and spirit tool at e grade. 3- D-grade axe that zac can't use at all because of the reason above. The axe is too much of a chance of being a bad decision. Core is the easy choice here. Also the eye can be used as a cultivation aide to draw in origin dao for a cultivation chamber, and can be used to upgrade a spirit tool. We don't know if it will upgrade zacs ccore because it was stated that it upgrades "most basic specialty cores" Which to be honest, the duplicity core is anything but basic. Add the fact that he needs 4 luck to hit 250 for every attibute, grabing the core upgrade could lead to zac walking into floor 8 with a massive power boost. Hell the 2 titles he got from completing floor 7 and getting the dao increased his effective stats by a huge amount like 1100 total. So any bonus attribute would be some serious power.

Frardowin

True but Verun is already E grade if memory serves, this is a shot to get a piece of D grade gear, which would be invaluable for pushing deeper in the tower

David Giles

The real question is what rewards to go for... Verun's Bite is E already right? So upgrading it to D seems the best choice, though the core is tempting. Although he has that eye, so if he can upgrade the core now with the eye, then select it...

David Giles

I like the stats screen as a picture, much easier to peruse.

Turora

Zac was 8th out of 200 people. Many of them who are the foremost young powerhouses in the multiverse.

I was not impressed with the reward for 8th place. An additional title slot when he has not used all the ones he has yet makes it only a benefit in far future, and not that big of a benefit at that. Compared to his current titles plus what he will likely get filling up his current 3 limited slots, adding one more is underwhelming. By the way, no one guessed the reward in the comment from chapter 443. And I have my doubts about the all attribute fruit. I think a basic all attributes +10 Title would be better than that fruit, since Zac has already used up a lot of his possible fruit attribute upgrades with the treasure hunt attribute fruits (especially strength, he has gotten a total of 18 strength from attribute fruits, so it is unlikely he can get another 10).

Or prefix each title with '1/4' , '2/4', etc.

TFD: You need to add some sort of indication on that stats screen about how many limited title slots Zac has. Could just put something like: "1 slot used, 3 slots available"

Would definitely choose core if it was me. Capital will happen soon regardless and Verun will just upgrade from lucky encounters like always. Thanks for the chapter.

Joshua Little

Really hope he takes the core upgrade! With that and the fruit he may just crack 1000 str!! Would be hilarious if he was sitting at 999 until he did something else in the tower just before leaving though haha

Nimps

Picture looks fine. Wasn't his luck over 300 though? Or is that number displayed before efficiency is applied?

Nimps

Awe we got Monday’s chapter early. As for Zacs choice, it has to be between upgrading his core and his axe, right? He knows that he is going to be facing hell as soon as he gets out of the tower, so he has to get as far as possible and as strong as possible while he is still inside the tower... of those two, I think the choice has to be his core. His core is by far the biggest cheat power that he has, and is also his hidden trump card.

Craig

The picture was a lot nicer to look at than text

Notalpacas

I bet on 1 and 4

Juli Freixi

Pictures are very small when viewed on mobile. Old method was better

Sweet rewards, sweet rewards... Let's see what Zac will choose... I hope Core...

Juli Freixi

With the lotus and other treasures he could have some super-cultivating man cave to make up for him being mortal

Patrick Chang

Ooooo dayum I like how u think. But I feel that would be unlikely as it has more variables and outside consequences than a system-created trial. The ones outside the tower aren’t being tested after all, so shouldn’t be put in mortal danger by the tower I feel

Patrick Chang

I like the pictures! Thanks for the chapters you make being a patron actually worthwhile for rewards!

Patrick Chang

I just had a thought. What if the test for “clearing the 9th floor” is done by clearing out the rabble at the bottom of the tower?

Obran

Speculation on possible bonuses from a core evolution? 1) Some sort of merge of the skills/abilities of his two classes. 2) Duplicating himself. One human, one draugr. 3) Getting another race/class. Matching his number of fragments and letting him focus on a third stat. 4) Faster switching. Maybe stat bonuses. 5) ???

AverageGuy

Another consideration is that inevitably Earth will stop generating Origin Dao so maybe not use the eyeball or ear or whatever it is to improve his core, but rather to make a kind of meditating man cave.

Obran

Verum is about to evolve on its own. He has a treasure he hasn't even seriously tried to upgrade his core with. A higher grade core and becoming a world city lord will probably give him another title which should push him above 1000 in strength with the fruit and grant yet another title.

Chris

You can't upgrade your core above your race.

Chris

If verun hits d-grade from the evolution. There is a chance the tower wont allow him to use it or it will cap its power.

Frardowin

World capitol allows travel to and from other planets. Zac could get help from iz tayn's family because she is obviously waifu.

Frardowin

I think an upgrade to his speciality core would be the best. It seems to be mostly forgotten by now, but Zac looted the Eye of the Pathfinder Oracle from the guy he killed at the Pill House, and it was basically guaranteed to upgrade a speciality core. By using both the Eye and the system upgrade (that doesn't specify rank), he could immediately catapult his core to D rank.

(1/3)

Obran

Im fine with both pictures and text, for me go for whatever takes least amount of time to format. Also, the pacing has been suffering somewhat when we got into the tower i m o.

Magnus Benzein

Since the 63rd level took almost no time (20 minutes), Zac should still have 27-days left in the Tower. Either 3 days per level if he only just passes the 8th floor, or 1 day per level for the 8th floor and 2 days per level for the 9th floor.

Also for 2500 he got Tyrannic Force which is all 5% efficiency. I figure he should get all 10% efficiency for 5000 points. He can get to 5000 if he advances two Fragments to Middle.

I like the pictures. Makes it a lot easier to read on my phone.

Mislandor

I don't know if I should point this out, but Zac is 674 points away from having 5000 attribute points. And I should mention that he got a title for being the first in the world for having 500

Obran

Yes, that is what it means, since [Verun's Bite] is currently E-grade. However, since Verun upgraded to E-grade a long time ago, it has feasted on a succulent plant/tree and the dew water, both of which seemed to boost its power. So I guess Verun only needs 1 or 2 more things to get to D-grade without the System reward.

i feel like Zac will reach an agreement with the undeads, and won't close their incursion, leading toward cohabitation on earth. By this scenario, world capital would be the best reward as hegemony would fail.

Thenais

Btw he didn't even get to check what loot he got from his competitors

gotag

8th out of 10 really isn't that good though

gotag

The choice of reward is easy: the Core upgrade. Two reasons, either of which would be enough by itself to choose it. First is that it is a guaranteed upgrade to his highly-specialized Core while he is still F-grade when his only alternative is a maybe upgrade to the Core after he reaches E-grade. Second reason is that is the only choice that upgrades his personal power, which is by far the most important. External power is just not as high priority as internal power. Besides, Verun is well on his way to the Evolution already, and Port Atwood should automatically become a [World Capital] after Zac closes the remaining Incursions (it was implied or stated in Zac's Hegemony quest, I believe)

Same for me, i switched off some extensions and they loaded. But i also prefer the them as raw text so i dont have to fiddle with that.

Varzifar

An entire chapter and he doesn't even finish picking his rewards? Sometimes (not often, just sometimes) it feels like these chapters are being padded.

Gremlin Jack

If he can break through the fire barrier the girl made, by the time he exits the Tower he will be able to reliably break through their arrays (I mean he already has the power, he just has to learn to use it reliably). And [Desolation] infused with Dao of Axe plus [Nature's Punishment] infused with Dao of Bodhi will obliterate everyone foolish enough to oppose Zac.

He also did not even take a quick look at the loot from the people he defeated. I wonder if TFD is trying to time things so that something dramatic happens on the 1st of next month. So he is putting in filler chapters to delay the climax.

The world capital is the worst choice out of the 3, I don't know why or how some people here are saying to choose that. It's stupid.

Raiser

Tables look good but uploading them as pictures screws scaling on mobile a bit. Have to rotate screen to horizontal to keep them readable. As for upgrades I bet on picking core upgrade because he's got not clues for doing it himself and he'll deal with outside of tower by getting axe dao to middle on exit probably.

Yeah, I’m expecting him to at least complete the first level of the ninth floor, though not the whole thing.

Luke Scheffe

I wonder how he'll manage all the people who are setting up to ambush him outside the tower. He's strong but not strong enough to with stand powerful arrays and best elites of the sector. He'll definitely find some sort of defensive treasure in the loot he just got from people on 7th level. My bet is on with standing the initial barrage and then half splinter crazed and half dao image induced craze killing and a whole lot of blood bath. I don't like that stupid weakling prince. I hope at the very least he dies.

H R

Knowing what we know on what’s about to go down at Port Atwood part of me wants him to pick the World Capital to see if it gives the city a fighting chance without Zac. But I also want Zac to get an upgrade so when he exits the Tower he’s gonna be a walking weapon of mass destruction to anyone who attacks him.

Maniac000

He will likely only clwar the 8th floor. Unless he finds oportunities that both give him more time and way more strenght. Also he went to the tower to get stronger and getting an E grade core even though it is suposedly imposible should give him better class choices. A good foundation is everything for the strenght of a cultivator. He is then free to use the eye for the shield or verum. Possibly getting the upgrade either way.

Johannes Sauer

He doesn't even want to keep on being a shielduser. I agree that it might take the shield up to spiritual weapon though.

Johannes Sauer

I hope he is choosing the upgrade for himself :=)

Tim Deral

Am I the only one annoyed that this chapter was basically just him sitting in the space between floors and doing some thinking? We didn't even get to see him pick his reward.

L Pedersen

I like the look of the tables

Weirwood

its better get the world cap...he can upgrade Verun himself. he has something to upgrade his core already.

What would be the benefits of upgrading his core right now? If he upgrades his weapon he might be able to make it further in the tower.

PrimordialJay

I love the blue pic boxes! Actually readable for me on mobile.

Alfred

Is that how it works? I was wondering why he mentioned having over 300 luck during the battle royal.

L Pedersen

By evolution does it mean verun's bite become D-spirit tool?

He might get to boss of floor 8 if he really rushes it. So he has some chance of passing it. He basically has no chance of passing the last floor unless it works completely differently from every other floor, which I see no reason for it to be other than PLOT.

Garbled Sounds

I don't see how he could choose anything other than core. It is his most pressing need and this way he not only gets a guaranteed upgrade, the upgrade is likely superior to the eye if it even worked. He could then use Eye on the shield. Verun is doing a good job upgrading itself currently.

rams

Ty for chapters. Now I'm sad that next one is on Tuesday and not Monday, but oh well. And I like these pictures more that text. Easier to read on cell I think.

It's obvious core upgrade is best short term and long term.

Andrius Kačergius

The whole point is to help his world out so he should choose capitol. The other options he can do himself. Eat that fruit then the shroom I'm sure he can then upgrade to E

Ed

Lol I'd say it was the exact opposite. The writing was so much smaller

Alexander Dupree

So he evolves his core or his axe and hope to become a "tower breaker"

Also ... let's look at stats: STAT - BASE - VALUE - EFFECTIVE STR - 560 - 980 - 1597 DEX - 311 - 498 - 772 END - 712 - 1282 - 2090 VIT - 408 - 673 - 1097 INT - 165 - 264 - 409 WIS - 241 - 386 - 598 LUK - 135 - 243 - 377 Acting 2k endurance is pretty powerful

Kyle Aretae

He hasn’t eaten it yet because he was told you can only evolve a speciality core in E grade

Henry Wartemberg

He only had so many days left before he has to leave the Tower which makes running full 8th floor questionable, little own the 9th unless something Luck Driven happens? I fully expect the the Core upgrade over any other option. Unless somehow having world capital gives him more time to perhaps run the Tower a 2nd time or some other benefit ?

Daniel

"Almost any Spirit Tool would gain a great boost to spirituality from consuming it, and it can be used to upgrade most basic Specialty Cores. You can even plant it in your cultivation cave, and it will start attracting Origin Dao" Why hasn't he eaten it yet? I feel like he either eats it now and sees if it evolves his core or takes the core upgrade reward and sees if it helps verum. If verum evolves he can spend some of its resting time in the black void without losing time.

Johannes Sauer

Been going back and forth but I hope he goes with Verun. The system tends to customise a bit. An axe customised to Life - Death. I can see that helping him a lot in the immediate and long term. I think there might be a difference between the Reward stating upgrade Verun or Evolve Verun. Wasn’t there a similar thing mentioned with that battle Roach. Does anyone remember the chapter?

Henry Wartemberg

The most interesting part of this chapter was the discussion of tower breakers. "the 9th floor was out of his reach unless the rules drastically changed on the final floor. " Foreshadowing: He's beating the 8th floor, and going on to the 9th. Still not clear if he's a tower breaker -- but ... it's an open question.

Kyle Aretae

Then he will truly become the 'living dead'

Kiwilord

And of course getting the duplicity core upgrade might push his strength over 1000 and thus get that elusive title.

Obran

It would also be funny if he upgrades the capital, and the attacking force is suddenly rebuffed by a complimentary defensive array.

Kiwilord

Its a maybe. And even if it works that way it is is more like a temporary buff to get through a hardship. He will get that soon anyways.

Johannes Sauer

The upgrade of his city seems pointless. Kind of surprised that there wasn’t an option to upgrade his shield to a tool spirit instead. As for what to get, while he does have a way potentially to upgrade his duplicity core later, he should be thinking about his climb now. So the question becomes which option gives him more staying power? Does the upgraded core makes him a tougher Draugr and human? Does it make him harder to kill? Or does it make it so he switches faster? Does upgrading Verun’s bite make it more compatible with his Draugr form; the miasma that it didn’t seem to like while in that shape? Does it do more damage? Does it make it so that spirit beast that come could have been used to ravage the assassin?

Obran

status screen was a awesome add.

Thundermike00

So, my hope with the duplicity core is that the e-rank comes with the ability for him to enter a mixed state, allowing him to combine his two energies with explosive results.

Kiwilord

He doesn't need need the core upgrade as he has the eye, though it will improve his stats probably letting him go 1000 str. What does being a World Capital does? Port Atwood still hasn't reach the limits of being a planetary Capital. My money is on a Verun upgrade

Omiso

Which one how? Sounds awsome

Johannes Sauer

Maybe the are advantages to fighting a war on your home planet when you own the world capital it practically makes you the Lord of your planet, maybe it gives you small adminstrative rights over the planet wouldn't that be easier for him while fighting off the incursions and the dominators, plus the title and possible rewards for making a world capital this early in the integration

On Patreon the pictures definitly work better. However I am always a fan of the blue boxes on RRL, so swapping back when you post there might be good.

Bunny Waffles

I can't decide how far he will get in the tower....in normal cultivation books he would no doubt go all the way, but really I can't tell. Also loving it so far 🥰.

kyle

Rewards look doop af. Honestly, even if it's not the best choice, I want him to choose Verun's upgrade. He already has maxed out on being a good boy, and I feel like Zac is Keanu Reeves or something whenever he's out already. Verun's so underappreciated man.

Bodoroo

The world capital is the one I thought would immediately be ruled out. That’s gonna happen anyway. It doesn’t bring much personal power to him and that’s what he needs right now more than anything.

Henry Wartemberg

The Dao Menu does not show up for me. There is just a broken image link icon. EDIT: Now neither of the pictures are showing up for me. I much prefer text for the stats and menus, even if I could see the pictures. Text is more general and compatible with everything. I do not care if it does not look pretty as long as the information is there and can be read.

Am really torn between the core and the world capital, the core might give him more options when choosing new classes on the other hand the world capital is well, the world capital.

the pictures worked well!! thank you for the double!

George

Did he not already get a way to evolve the core?

Augustus

Agree. This would upgrade his core while in F-Grade. Maybe he will be able to switch instantly and further evolution could allow for both classes to fuse.

Gabriel F

Thanks for the chapter

Alexander

duplicity core upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, please dont waste this on port atwood. verun is easier to evolve than a special core,

Slim Dakhch

The treasure is not a sure way. This reward is and will upgrade at F-Grage.

Gabriel F

I would rather you not use pictures. I use text to speech program to listen to the chapters.

jd

YEEEESSS!! DOUBLE CHAPTER!!! INFINITE THANKS THE FIRST DEFIER!!

Juli Freixi

In mobile at least, the image status screen is much better. Especially for the big one with all his info.

Garbled Sounds

He should evolve his Core. He already has a quest to make his Town the World Capital, Verun is already on its way to evolving (has eaten a few good things), but he's not sure the Pathfinder Oracle Eye can evolve his core (it can evolve basic Specialty Cores, but his doesn't seem basic) - also, without evolving his Core his 2nd Class likely won't be able to progress in levels I'd rather have Verun eat the Pathfinder Eye to improve its spirituality for an effect that will always be valuable, whereas using it on the Core would probably just upgrade it normally

Blaublue

The world capital is pretty much inevitable he should pick his axe

Toknightly

For how unique his Duplicity Core is, that is the only real option for him to choose. Finding items and such to evolve his axe will be a lot easier to find and at the very least if he gets connections off world, he can just ask around to see if anyone has stuff like that.

Tyler Babcock

Thank you! I liked the picture method

Andrew

He already has a way to upgrade his Duplicity Core it's the other two that are the question. I would go for Verun’s Bite as he can always upgrade his city later.

Justin van mele

I like the text way more the screen’s font is waaaay to small

Jordan

pictures are much better for the status screens.

BookDragonling

New status screen looks great!

The picture seems more effective than blocks of text

Deshauwn

I like the screen far more.

awreeohs

Hooray!

Grammarmelade

Craig

Holy shit how is he suppose to choose only one of those!

Garbled Sounds
