Art Log #01

Here the storyboard of Alphas (NSFW) very messy and cryptic, maybe because they’re beefy furries pounding the crap out each other, and I don’t want it being understandable by any other that could handle it.

I draw it in the spare time, maybe while the PC loading a very heavy artwork,  because, as you could imagine, it is the hardest part.

Putting a bunch of scribbles together in a row of three “thumbnails” can take more than an hour of my time. A lot of creative effort involved.

Also because I don’t have so many reference pics for the poses I imagine. Porn is pretty static today, even in the “erotic fight” genre, it’s apparent that they’re not actually trying to stick each other to the floor, but to follow some script.

There’s not at all the energy I can perceive in the real wrestling videos and photos. Indeed, I more frequently use the last ones, even for pure sex scenes.

In the end, that’s the purpose of muscles, no? Sustain our athletic movements and express strength and energy. Beauty is just a lucky consequence.

This week there had been a fuss about Tumblr deleting NSFW blogs to adapt its app the IOS Store rules, then revealed as a glitch.

In the hours of panic thinking about an alternative to Tumblr, I wondered: what’s the purpose of a sharing platform that lets you post NSFW material but hides it from search tool? Isn’t that just an unsatisfactory compromise?

Isn’t that just praying every time that you post something that it will be reblogged by someone of big? Someone that gained the biggest amount of their active followers during the pre-filter era?

Well, I guess for now that the best choice is to put all my efforts into becoming better and better at drawing an thus becoming so good that being noticed is just a matter of networking and not the quality of the artworks.

And this log makes part of the process. It will be updated daily and it will help me in being focused and mindful in my work.
