META

META

It is said that energy could not be created  nor destroyed; only transformed. The principle is ancient and timeless,  built into the very building blocks of our universe itself, but every  waking day on every living world, life finds ways to bring new  definition to just what energy is… and what it could become. In a  distant corner of the cosmos, one race found a way to harness thought,  motivation and ideals. They created an all-encompassing energy that  embodied justice, goodness, and a thirst for freedom, and because it was  born of the ideas of conscious thought, the energy bound itself to a  living soul. When the soul perished, the energy moved on to another,  then another. In time the world evolved beyond the need for the energy,  but the essence continued on, searching for a world in need of justice,  in need of goodness, and in need of a hero.

Trinity  sits on the ocean like a jewel, a mecca and metropolis of science and  civilization, but darkness festers in the foundations, creeping among the shadows. Evil is bubbling  toward the breaking point and there is only one who can turn the tide  against it - Meta.

----

I tend not to write a lot of ongoing series, and when I do they tend to be built in a world that belongs to someone else. Lykos and Terramagica are kind of rare in that regard, but one of my earliest attempts was Meta. It was built with sort of a MCU vibe/energy to it. There were ideas for a sort of passing the torch on if any of the heroes were ever corrupted by the villains.

My big question is... Did anyone enjoy this before? Or, upon reading it here, is anyone enjoying it now? I didn't get a lot of feedback on it the first time around so it was hard telling. Also, people seemed more interested in the villains than the hero, which I can understand. I'm mostly curious if there's still interest, and if so, what direction people want to see it take.

EDIT: I have cleaned up the chapters, converted some of the side stories into mainline and fixed a lot of typos. It should be a more enjoyable read now.

Hahaha. Indeed! One of my first patrons!

I liked it a lot. You could tell because I commissioned two story's if it, when I could remember correctly :) especially the add ons to the universe "a meta side story" from another Autor on gr. I love such additions and co-ops (I don't know if you liked it or not ;) I did. :). And I love to read more of trinity and more of masks army. ;))

I would say Chapters 1-5 first. I'm not sure when the others take place but I think recruitment comes before re-enlistment, and even if it is out of order, 1-5 should give you the context.

to be honest, I have not read this series yet, is there any particular reading order you recommend or should I simply go from the main series to the order they were put here?

There's something I find really fascinating about the juxtaposition between who he is deep down and what the super soldier formula transformed him into, and how that leads to him becoming such an influential figure in the shadows. I'm also really into muscle growth, so the transformations he induces are particularly appealing to me.

That's a very good point!!! The biggest easter egg out of any I've ever done is Genetech. They're the cause of SOOOO many of the unexpected transformations. They're peppered out across a lot of the stand alone stories (even as recent as Bear Brew and Finicky Food). Doctor Julian's an extension of that. I should make sure to attach the Doctor Julian stories to this entry as well.

I definitely enjoyed the series. I enjoyed the chapter with Dr. Julian I think his name was a lot

Mask did seem to be a standout. What aspects drew you to him?

Leo Todrius

I still read these stories every now and then, particular the ones involving mask. I'd love to see this story continue!
