Thank you ☺️ I googled it and found this scientific explanation for the different taste: To test the recipe for the perfect cup of tea put forward in 1946 by George Orwell himself, Dr Stapley of Loughborough University established that putting the milk in after the boiling water is incorrect, as it causes the milk to heat unevenly (as opposed to pouring the water on top of it). This uneven heating of the milk causes the proteins in it to denature, meaning they lose their structure and “clump”, affecting the taste and contributing to that skin you get on the top. So when someone says they can tell if you put the milk in first or second in the tea you’ve made for them just by tasting it, turns out they probably can. But all of this probably only applies to cow milk. If you drink your tea with a plant based milk it’s probably a sin for any traditional English grandma anyways haha 😇😅😈

It’s supposed to taste better and it’s mixing the two liquids easier for some reason. At the end you can of course do it as you please but whenever I see someone drinking tea in this very English setting, it reminds me of my grandmother 👵🏻

My grandpa passed on Aug 11th and I didn’t know the exact time until this year. On Aug 11th 2022 at 7:08pm one of my devices announced the time. My husband looked at me an I had no clue where it came from.. I picked up my phone and it wasn’t that so I put my phone down .. still looking for the device I look over and my phone literally jumps off of the table. This is when it hit me grandpa is here. I called my mom and had her look at the death certificate and he passed at 7:08pm ..

Maybe next time y’all can fly to Europe and plan your European travels around their train system.
