Hello!
This Sunday we will be having some fun with frosting! We're going to see what we can do with cookies cut from traditional Christmas cookie cutters :D
Using the recipes below, I'm going to have already mixed, cut and baked my cookies, so this will be a craftalong dedicated to decorating!
In this stream, I will also be announcing the winners of last week's contest!
Can't wait to have some eggnog with you and see how big of a mess we can make! :))

Shortbread Cookies Recipe:
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Cup Confectioners Sugar
1 1/4 Cup Butter
1 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tbs Almond Milk
Sift flour, sugar and salt and whisk. Add cubed butter in a stand mixer. Add vanilla, salt and milk. Combine until texture resembles wet sand. Add more milk if the mixture is too dry and does not easily form a ball. Chill at least one hour.
Heat oven to 320 degrees. Roll out dough into a 1/8inch sheet and cut out shapes using your favorite cookie cutters.
Royal Icing Recipe:
6 Tbs Chilled Aquafaba (Reduced Chickpea Brine) or egg whites
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/8 Tsp Cream of Tartar
1/8 Tsp Almond Flavoring
1 Tsp Vanilla
4 Cups Confectioners Sugar
Whisk chilled aquafaba (or egg whites) in a stand mixer until frothy. Add salt, cream of tartar, almond flavor and vanilla. Mix and then add 4 cups of confectioners sugar, adding one cup at a time and mixing before adding the next. Once soft peaks are visible, transfer to an airtight container and chill until ready to use.

She used Miyokos vegan butter and entirely vegan options for those tutorials and so would expect that to be the same here. I still really want to try the recipe she came up with for that vegan cake and buttercream. It looked so good! 😋

I saw it as she was trying to give options for all, because her audience is varied and has different viewpoints on things like this. Yes, people can find substitutions on their own, but I doubt Christine was purposely trying to promote anything except a fun live stream.
