I started patting my body, inspecting it to make sure I wasn't missing anything after eating a second devil fruit, and Zeita watched this scene with no small amount of amusement.
"Arms check, legs check, internal organs.. probably check ..." I said, sighing in relief, shrugging my shoulder and concentrating on the foreknowledge flooding my mind.
Taking a second to digest the knowledge, I willed my body to change, and change it did. My skin turned bright crimson, and my muscles tightened and started enlarging.
The nails of my right hand turned into sharp claws and extended beyond the human norm, and my upper fangs protruded out of my mouth as my hair turned white, floating in the air despite the lack of a current.
Two horns formed on my forehead, and I think I grew a couple of inches based on how the ground seemed a little further than usual, but above all else was the sense of strength and vigor flooding my veins as everything but my prosthetic left arm changed.
I felt like I could destroy everything and like I could survive anything.
"REHAHAHAHA!"
Feeling my newly acquired strength, I couldn't help but raise my head and let out a loud laugh that sounded more of a throaty roar than anything else, sending a shock wave that pushed the couch a distance away.
I felt myself grow at least three times stronger as the transformation changed, along with an almost endless supply of life energy and stamina flooding my body.
And this was merely the hybrid form. My eyes glinted in excitement as I prepared to turn into a full Oni this time, but Zetia quickly interrupted me.
"Don't even think about it. I still want my office in one piece," Zetia said with a scoff, waving a hand to the side, and I smiled as I reverted into my human form.
"Killjoy," I said, shrugging my shoulders as I moved the couch back into its original place. I took a seat and started pondering my new abilities and how to use them in combat.
I immediately noticed something as I went through the innate knowledge eating the devil fruit provided me after comparing it to the fruit's encyclopedia page.
The encyclopedia had no mention of gaining elemental resistance when eating the devil fruit, but the innate knowledge I got said otherwise.
"Are you sure this encyclopedia is accurate? It said nothing about elemental resistance..." I immediately put my thoughts into words as I turned to Zetia.
"The encyclopedia states that the user of the fruit gains enhanced resistance to damage, which all forms of damage..." Zetia replied, trailing off. "Especially elemental damage," she added, emphasizing the first word of her sentence and sending me a meaningful glance.
I didn't need to hear anything else as I grinned and sold my fire and electricity resistance, only leaving the poison resistance as it could come in handy thanks to its effect of turning toxic damage to health.
I now had 150 CP, and looking through the available items list, I quickly figured out what to do with them. I started by selling my revolver and infinite bullet pouch, which gave me 75 and another 75, raising my CP to 300.
I used the CP to buy Johnny Silver Hand's original gun, Malorian Arms 3516, which I sold at first because it was too flashy, and I didn't want any unwanted attention, but it didn't matter now.
The weapon only cost 100 CP, and I used the rest, upgrading it and giving it self-mending, infinite bullets, and incendiary damage, leaving me with only 50, which I used to buy a single sea stone bullet.
I took Malorian Arms out of my inventory and raised an eyebrow as it appeared in my hand out of nowhere.
'I'm gonna need to get used to that...' I mused as I twirled the gun in my hand with absolute glee and only stopped myself from trying it out because of the intense glares Zeita kept sending me.
"I have everything I need. I'm ready to go back," I said after going through the system one last time to make sure I wasn't missing anything and had everything I needed.
Zeita nodded and stood up, seemingly preparing to send me off, but I cut her off before she could do that.
"We're not gonna see each other for a while, so how about a goodbye kiss before I go?" I remarked with a smile, shooting my shot. I was going to leave si I might as well, you know?
Zetia didn't say anything, merely smiling as she started walking towards me with a sway in her hips and stopped only an inch away from me. She reached to cup my cheeks and pushed her face towards mine.
The kiss I expected didn't come. Instead, Zetia put her mouth near my ear and whispered.
"Good luck getting drunk..." Zetia remarked as she took a step back, sending me a smug grin, and that's when it hit me; Oni had incredible alcohol tolerance because of their metabolism, making it extremely difficult for them to get drunk.
My eyes widened, and I wanted to curse, but I couldn't say anything as a familiar darkness took over me, and I was already back on top of Fish-man Island when I returned to my sense.
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!"
...
Fish-man Island
Ryougou Palace, inside Shirahoshi's room.
King Neptune smiled as he opened the door to his daughter's room, pushing a giant serving cart full of food and entering himself.
"Your father is here. Shirahoshi! Look, I brought you lunch -Jamon," he greeted, a fond smile splitting his face as he dotingly regarded his daughter. "We can have it together since I'm not busy right now -Jamon," he added, combing his ginger curly beard with his hand.
"You can't abandon your duties to spend time with me, father. I know you're busy with managing the kingdom, so you don't have to worry about me," Shirahoshi sheepishly replied, trying to project an aura of confidence, which clearly wasn't there.
'Such a sweet, considerate child -Jamon...'
King Neptune mused, a tear threatening to fall from his eye. His daughter was such a wonderful, kind girl, but she had to stay locked up in this room, and it's all because of that perverted bastard Vander Decken.
If only King Neptune could get his hands on the bastard, he'd surely tear him to shreds and feed him the sea kings prowling the area, but the bastard was as slippery as an eel and avoided Neptune like his life depended on it (which it did).
"Don't be silly, my dear. I don't have any work right now-" Neptune started, trying to console his daughter, but a loud, ear-splitting exclamation of anguish and rage suddenly cut him off.
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!"
King Neptune didn't even have enough time to process the situation before his minister of the right burst into the room.
"Your majesty, the new fish-man pirates attacked a human in the water just outside the giant bubble!" the minister hurriedly exclaimed. "They are all dead, and that human is still there!" he added, pointing towards the top of the giant bubble through the opened door.
"Close the door, you fool -Jamon!" Neptune immediately snapped, delivering a punch to the minster's as he turned to Shirahoshi, sending her an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, my dear, but I need to go -Jamon," he added, and his daughter said nothing but nodded her head, prompting him to sigh.
"That human could be dangerous. Prepare the army and get someone to bring me my trident," Neptune instructed. He and the minister exited the room after giving Shirahoshi one last apologetic smile before closing the door.
...
When Neptune and his army arrived at the scene, they found no trace of the human, only a tied-up Vander Decked, lying on top of the Giant bubble, his shifty eyes darting in confusion.
"Well, well, what do we have here -Jamon?" Neptune said as he threw away his trident and slowly walked towards Vander Decken while cracking his knuckles, a dark expression on his face.
It was said that the ensuing screams were heard by even the residents of Sabaody Archipelago on the surface.
