"Arara, that's quite rude..." Aokiji said, staring me down as he used his superior physical strength and height to push me back. He loomed over me, and despite his lethargic appearance, the man was rather intimidating up close.
I activated my phasing ability, letting his sword pass through Triton and my body, and I stepped forward, swinging my sword upward at his armpit, intending to cut his arm.
Taken by surprise, Aokiji couldn't dodge in time, and I managed to cut his sword arm right off his shoulder. He didn't flinch and immediately kicked at my abdomen, forcing me to retreat before I could swing my sword again.
I raised an eyebrow, watching as Aokiji's arm grew back in a mere second, but there was a fresh wound beneath his biceps leaking blood. He looked at his injured arm and then at me, seemingly surprised.
"It looks like you couldn't turn to ice in time," I remarked, smiling as I swung Triton to the side to get rid of the admiral's blood and lowered my posture, preparing to lunge.
"How troublesome... you're the type I don't get along with the most..." Aokiji said, sighing as he recreated the Ice Saber, giving me an annoyed look that suggested he wanted to be anywhere but here.
"Good thing you're not here to make friends with me then," I remarked with a chuckle as I drew my fist back and sent a flaming Meteor Fist flying at him. I kept it connected to my prosthetic arm and fed it more flames as it soared, causing it to grow until it was house-sized by the time it reached Aokiji.
"Ice Block: Pheasant Beak," Aokiji muttered, releasing a massive wave of snow in the form of a pheasant that clashed with my Meteor Fist.
The two attacks connected, clashing as they released an enormous cloud of steam and wave of searing heat, hot enough to melt some marine soldiers in the distance.
"You guys get the others out of here and clear the area," Aokiji said without turning to the marine soldiers as the steam cleared, his tone still lazy, but he had a slightly more serious expression.
"Oh... scary..." I said as I drew my gun and began firing at Aokiji while running toward him, sword in hand. He didn't bother dodging, merely turning himself to ice and creating holes in his body that the bullets passed through.
I quickly reached him and swung my sword sideways, only for him to block with his sword, sending a shock wave and metallic clang that reverberated all over the park. We began exchanging sword blows, and I kept my gun in my hand, taking the occasional shot, which he dodged or turned to ice to avoid damage.
"Ice Block: Partisan," Aokiji remarked as our swords clashed into a stalemate, creating four icy spears, hovering above him with their pointy ends directed in my face.
I didn't dodge or activate my phasing ability. I used my flame thrower and diverted the flames to cover me, creating a protective fiery aura around my body.
My oni devil fruit gave me elemental resistance. And even though I wasn't completely immune, the flame surrounding my body barely stung as it melted away the ice spears before Aokiji could launch them.
I took advantage of Aokiji's surprise and stored my gun in my inventory, extending my claws (imbued with the fiery aura and haki) and swiping at his chest.
I managed to draw blood again, but Aokiji quickly recovered and swung at my chest, leaving a bloody, leaking gash at the center. I didn't flinch and merely jumped back, smiling at Aokiji's troubled expression as he saw the wound mend at a visible rate along with my clothes.
"What a troublesome set of abilities..." Aokiji said, heaving another sigh as he regarded me with a look that suggested I was the most terrible nuisance he'd ever laid eyes on in all his life.
"Then how about you take this seriously before I take your head next time, hmm?" I asked, smiling and shrugging my shoulders as I retracted my claws.
"Arara... well, if you're that eager to die..." Aokiji remarked, and the lethargy disappeared from his face, replaced by a stern, battle-ready expression as he let out a drawn breath that froze the air.
I didn't reply and was already swinging my sword at him when he finished speaking. His Ice Saber met Trition halfway, and I could tell he was taking the fight seriously now by the dull pain in my sword arm as he pushed me back.
"That's more like it!" I exclaimed, my grin becoming more pronounced as I sent a Meteor Fist flying toward the admiral, which he cut in half with his sword.
Taking advantage of Aokiji losing sight thanks to the steam from the clash, I turned invisible, using my silent steps to sneak behind him as I drew my blade and prepared to swing.
I imbued Triton with as much armament haki as possible and swung from behind Aokiji. However, he sensed my attack thanks to his observation and deflected my sword to the side.
I swung again, unmindful of the sword slash flying towards the Ferris wheel, cutting it in half. Aokiji tried to deflect it again, but I activated my phasing ability to let my sword pass right through his Ice Saber.
However, Aokiji had already seen this trick once and was ready for it, turning to ice in time to avoid taking damage. He still grunted in pain as my fiery aura invaded his body, and I sent him sliding back with a kick to the abdomen.
Even though it may seem that I was winning, I was slowly but surely losing the advantage, and the wounds I managed to inflict on the admiral were shallow and not threatening.
And now that he was taking the fight more seriously, he could overpower me with his superior physical strength, so I needed to keep our clashes short and adopt a hit-and-run tactic.
I also needed to keep moving because he covered the ground with ice, and he could freeze me from range if I let him, which is why I always send a flame attack to melt the ice in my way before advancing myself, but he keeps freezing the ground.
'My only advantages were speed and maneuverability, and I'll have to make full use of them if I wanted to win...' I mused as I floated into the air. If I couldn't avoid the ice on the ground, I only needed to be somewhere it wouldn't reach me.
"Arara... you keep getting more and more troublesome..." Aokiji remarked, scratching the back of his head as he watched me fly into the air.
"I'm just getting started... plenty more where that came from..."
