One Piece: Killer Method #190

Perched precariously on the mast, Duval found himself in an undignified position, his legs flailing in the wind behind him like a flag swaying with the wind. The relentless gusts tugged at his clothing and tousled his hair, creating a comical spectacle amidst the extraordinary scene unfolding around him.

The ship was cradled within the grasp of the colossal shrimp creature, its movements causing the vessel to sway and tilt along the steep cloud path.

Voicing his exasperation above the wind's howl, Duval's words carried a mix of frustration and incredulity. "Why the hell does it seem like everyone is out to make me shit my pants?!" His proclamation was a testament to the astonishing events that had transpired in rapid succession.

The sense of being thrust into the unknown, one surreal experience after another, left him both bewildered and, begrudgingly, amused.

He cast a scowl in the direction of Cedric's relaxed form, his thoughts echoing the chain of events that had led to their current predicament.

First, it was Cedric's audacious flight with the ship atop the clouds. Then came the unexpected descent, a fall that had sent Duval's heart racing and his stomach plummeting. Now, it was the presence of the damned wrinkly hag at Heaven's Gate and the inexplicable giant shrimp beneath the ship.

Amidst the chaotic swaying, Cedric's laughter danced on the wind as he caught Duval's resentful glare. "Oh, come on," he chided, his amusement evident. "I wasn't aiming to give you a scare, but hey, if you keep screaming like a little girl, I might just have to make it a regular thing!"

He playfully wagged a finger before adopting a more serious tone. "But seriously, if you mess up my ship's deck, I'll throw you back to the blue sea, stains and all!" Duval's response was confined to simmering glares; there was little room for witty comebacks amidst the ongoing roller coaster of emotions.

The rest of the crew clung to whatever they could, their white-knuckled grips a testament to their determination to hold on for dear life. Around them, the clouds became a blur as the ship sped along the improbable path, the sensation of breakneck speed adding to the surrealism of their journey.

As the enormous shrimp creature carried the ship upward, the path they followed through the clouds began to twist and curl, and the once-white surroundings turned a dark, mysterious hue. Ahead, at the apex of this intricate route, the cloud tunnel they traversed bathed in an ethereal light, growing brighter as they drew near. The ship's crew clung to railings and whatever secure holds they could find, their gazes fixed on the approaching brilliance.

A sigh of relief escaped Baby Five's lips as her eyes caught the welcoming light. "That should be the exit! Finally!" She exhaled with visible relief, her shoulders relaxing as the journey through the darkened clouds neared its end.

Nico Robin's analytical gaze noticed a plaque positioned near the end of the tunnel. Almost absentmindedly, she read aloud the words engraved upon it, "God's Land, Skypeia..."

Cedric's grin illuminated his face as he overheard Robin's muttered observation. With a jovial tone, he addressed his crewmates, "Hold onto your hats, everyone. That's no exit—it's an entrance!" His declaration hung in the air just as the shrimp creature propelled them out of the twisting tunnel.

The massive creature unceremoniously released its grip on the ship as it hovered in the air, and the vessel plummeted onto yet another expanse of white cloud sea, creating a gigantic splash.

With sighs of relief, the ship's crew settled into the newfound calmness of the cloud sea beneath them. Baby Five, her racing heart gradually steadying, couldn't help but voice her sentiment, "I hope to the heavens we never have to go through that again..." Her voice trembled slightly with the lingering tension of the journey.

Now that the initial rush had passed, she turned her attention to Cedric, her curiosity piqued. "Captain," she inquired, her gaze seeking his, "how did you know that they'd accept dirt as payment?" Her brow quirked in genuine wonder, eager to unravel the mystery behind the unconventional payment choice.

Cedric's grin was a testament to his readiness to answer. "Well," he began, his voice carrying a hint of playful mischief, "we're in the sky right now, aren't we?" His question hung in the air for a moment before he answered it himself, his tone carrying a touch of triumph.

"And what's one thing that's everywhere on the Blue Sea but might not be so common up here? Dirt. Earth. Soil." He chuckled, a casual gesture that belied the depth of his reasoning. "It was just a hunch, a lucky shot in the dark that paid off."

Baby Five's and Duval's eyes widened at the simplicity yet brilliance of Cedric's deduction. Their expressions reflected a mix of surprise and genuine admiration for their captain's quick thinking.

Meanwhile, Robin and Kieran exchanged skeptical glances, clearly not entirely convinced by Cedric's explanation. But before they could voice their skepticism. Cedric couldn't even begin to explain how he gained such knowledge by watching a crew of weirdos make the same trip in his past life. And so he deftly steered the conversation elsewhere.

"Of course," he smoothly transitioned, his grin becoming infectious, "shouldn't we all be more concerned with the fantastic view right behind you?" With a casual flick of his hand, he directed their attention to the rear of the ship, where an island—suspended in a sea of white clouds— loomed in the horizon.

Before them lay an island of ethereal wonder, a mosaic of white clouds interspersed with vibrant greenery, intertwining buildings, and intricate pathways—all rendered in the same radiant shade of white. The scene before them was nothing short of fantastical, an intricate tapestry of structures that appeared to be sculpted from the very clouds they stood upon. Heaven's Gate had more than met its reputation, granting them access to a place of unparalleled beauty.

Den, accustomed to the underwater realms of Fishman Island, found himself more awestruck by this surreal spectacle than anyone else. His eyes widened, and he couldn't help but voice his thoughts in a hushed murmur, "It's an island... a sky island." The concept was a stark departure from his aquatic existence, and the marvel before him left him both fascinated and slightly disoriented.

Even Chuchun, the suprr sparrow who had spent a great deal of his life soaring through the skies, found himself captivated. He tilted his head, emitting curious chirps that seemed to mirror the collective sentiment of awe among the crew.

Duval's characteristic grin was broad, his eyes gleaming with genuine admiration. "Now, this," he declared with a flourish of his hand, "is what I'd call a beautiful, enchanting place."

A dramatic pause followed as he placed a contemplative finger on his chin, his tone now tinged with playfulness. "Almost as perfect as my face." A cheeky grin followed his words, and he couldn't resist a final addition, "Though, perhaps I'm being too modest."

Even Robin and Kieran, who had initially held their suspicions about Cedric's reasoning, were momentarily swept up by the sheer spectacle before them. Their doubt was replaced by a shared sense of wonder as they turned their gazes to the resplendent scene that unfolded—an island crafted from clouds, a realm they had never imagined could exist.

The crew of the Golden Ape had arrived at their destination—a land suspended in the heavens, a place of breathtaking beauty and mystery, awaiting their exploration.

Amidst the awestruck silence, Robin's calm voice cut through the atmosphere. "The plaque at the end of the tunnel said, 'God's Land, Skypeia...'" Her words carried a note of clarity as if deciphering the enigma of the place before them.

Kieran, who had a penchant for analyzing details, nodded in agreement. "It makes sense. 'Skypeia' must be the name of this sky island." His voice held an uncharacteristic sense of excitement.

The reaction spoke of the fantastical nature of the scene unfolding before his eyes, leaving only someone like Kieran unable but to express some exitment, albeit unintentionaly.

Cedric, in his characteristic nonchalant manner, scratched his head and shifted his weight from one foot to the other. "Names don't matter much to me," he stated with a shrug, his gaze fixed on the island before them. "What does matter is getting a closer look. Hurry up and lower the sails!"
