2 months late but whatever. Shae's death is a lot different in the books. For one Jaime tells Tyrion the truth about Tysha (which was the story Tyrion told Bronn and Shae in the tent in season 1). For one she wasn't a whore but instead the relationship they had was real, but then Tywin made Jaime say that she was a whore and made his entire guard and Tyrion r word her. This means that the only true love Tyrion had in his life was taken by his father and he spent his entire life thinking that no one would ever love him. This makes Tyrion hate Jaime with him saying he actually did kill Joffrey. (even though he obviously didn't). Finally, Shae's death is not self-defense in the book and Shae was used by Cersei and Tywin, but Tyrion killed her anyway. This leads to a much darker Tyrion then what we got in the show, like a lot darker. Not sure why they wouldn't include the reveal, but it would have made a great episode exceptional.

Just so you know Brienne and the Hound donβt fight in the books. The Hound is even more of a savage in the books he would have bodied Brienne

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't a play from the beginning. Remember when Cersei pointed out Shae to Tywin at Joffreys wedding? That's when they got to her. She went with Tywin afterwards to still asume a position of safety and provision I suppose. Still heartbreaking for Tyrion nonetheless.
