One Piece: Killer Method #205
Added 2023-09-24 13:52:37 +0000 UTCAs Ohm continued to stare at Kieran with wide, disbelieving eyes, still unable to process the situation, the voice of Gan Fall resonated through the area. "There you are... and I see you've already handled your opponent," Gan Fall remarked as he approached Kieran, his gaze settling on the shell-shocked Ohm.
Kieran simply nodded in response, and with a swift and decisive kick, he sent Ohm's head snapping to the side. Ohm's sunglasses flew off his head, and he crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
"We've also dealt with Enel's minions on our part," Gan Fall continued, gesturing behind him where the Shandians were finishing off any remaining foes. "There were some injuries but no casualties so far, fortunately," he concluded, clearly relieved.
Kieran, however, seemed uninterested in the fate of the Shandians or Enel's followers. He shrugged casually. "Whatever the case," he said, his tone nonchalant, "hurry up and get ready to follow the captain."
Kneeling next to Ohm's unconscious body, Kieran reached down and picked up Ohm's distinctive Eisen Blade. It gleamed menacingly in the dim light of the ruins.
"I'd like to see how powerful this Enel guy is with my own eyes," Kieran mused aloud, his curiosity evident. "Before Cedric takes care of him," he added with a grin, clearly relishing the prospect of the upcoming battle.
...
Meanwhile, atop the towering Giant Jack, Cedric maintained a rather bored expression as he gracefully evaded Shura's relentless attacks with the Heat Javelin.
The spear was no ordinary weapon; it housed a heat dial within it, which granted it incendiary capabilities. Shura himself was a formidable fighter, possessing a level of mastery over Observation Haki that made him a threat to most opponents.
However, he faced an adversary who surpassed him in every imaginable way. Cedric's mastery over flames, coupled with his near-immunity to heat thanks to his devil fruit, made the incendiary spear of little concern.
Furthermore, Cedric's own Observation Haki had developed significantly since he first awakened it back in Sabaody. His skill and physical prowess were also remarkable.
As Shura lunged forward with a powerful thrust of his heated weapon, Cedric sidestepped with casual ease, avoiding the spear's deadly arc.
A knowing smile played on Cedric's lips as he glanced downward, his enhanced senses picking up the signs of Kieran and the others completing their battle at the base of the Giant Jack.
"Took you long enough," Cedric muttered to himself, the corners of his lips curling upwards in amusement. With a swift and precise movement, he planted his palm squarely into Shura's chest.
The impact sent Shura hurtling through the air, his body crashing into a group of Enel's followers with a resounding thud.
Cedric's smile remained firmly in place as he regarded the utterly shocked Shura. He couldn't help but find the situation rather tedious at this point. "I've wasted enough time on you people," Cedric stated calmly, his voice carrying an air of nonchalance. "Your opponents will be here shortly, so I'll be excusing myself now."
With that, Cedric propelled himself into the air using Geppo, his powerful legs allowing him to leap gracefully over Shura and the other priests, on a direct course toward Enel.
In truth, Cedric possessed the power to end this confrontation at any given moment. He could simply unleash his formidable flame powers and neutralize everyone present in the blink of an eye. He had no interest in toying with weaker opponents, and his reluctance to bring a swift conclusion to the battle stemmed from a deep conviction.
Cedric had a profound respect for the concept of struggle and the importance of earning one's victory. He understood that the Shandians and Gan Fall's group had endured years of suffering under Enel's oppressive rule.
If he were to simply appear and eliminate Enel and his followers single-handedly, it would render their struggle meaningless.
They needed to fight for their freedom, to wrest it from Enel's grasp with their own determination and effort. Cedric had sought out Gan Fall and aided the Shandians precisely because he believed in the significance of their battle and the value of their hard-earned victory.
Shura, refusing to let Cedric slip away, turned urgently to his fellow priest with a sharp exclamation. "Gedatsu!" He called out, snapping Gedatsu back to reality. Gedatsu, who had been preoccupied with attempting to jam a sandwich into his ear, swiveled around with an unexpectedly serious expression.
Raising his hand with determination, Gedatsu exclaimed, "Swamp Cloud Burger!" In response to his proclamation, a peculiar blob of Swamp Clouds manifested and promptly soared into the air, heading straight toward their intended target.
Unfortunately for Shura, the target of Gedatsu's Swamp Cloud attack happened to be none other than Shura's own face. The gooey, cloud-like substance splattered across him, coating Shura's head and almost causing him to choke to death.
Observing this strange exchange with amusment from above, Cedric couldn't help but chuckle at the comical antics of Order of Swamp's master and the eccentric manifestations of his many quirks.
With a shake of his head, he pressed on, determined to reach Enel and bring this conflict to a close.
...
Deeper within the sanctified confines of God's Shrine, Enel resided in a secluded gazebo nestled on the sprawling grounds of his grand mansion, perched high amidst the ethereal clouds.
Two resplendent, winged women attended to his every need, tending to him with gentle care, feeding him choice morsels, and fanning him with graceful motions.
In this serene and privileged setting, a man of notably short stature, adorned with a thick black mane of hair and an equally substantial beard, garbed in the pristine vestments of a Grecian robe, approached Enel. Upon his arrival, he promptly bowed before the electrifying presence of the self-proclaimed deity.
A sardonic smirk danced upon Enel's lips as he acknowledged the newcomer. "Ah, there you are, Gode," he mused, prompting the man, known as Gode, to lift his head and meet Enel's gaze.
An air of amusement infused Enel's voice as he inquired, "Tell me, Gode, what are the chances that these rebels would dare to ascend to this sacred place?" His raised eyebrow conveyed his curiosity, his evident delight in the unfolding drama.
Gode, bearing an expression of contemplation, closed his eyes briefly, as though communing with some inner reservoir of wisdom.
After a calculated moment, his eyes flickered open, and he offered his assessment. "The odds, my lord, are exceedingly slim," he began. "The Shandians and Gan Fall apart, the true capabilities of these blue sea dwellers remain a mystery." Gode then raised one finger, emphasizing his point.
"Your devoted followers, numerous in number, stand united in strength," he continued, adding another finger to underscore their power.
"Furthermore, we possess the advantage of terrain. It is a formidable task to imagine these rebels overcoming such formidable odds, even with the occasional stroke of fortune on their side," Gode concluded, lowering his head once more in deference to the ruler of Skypiea.
Enel's smirk, a manifestation of his godlike confidence, deepened in response to Gode's assessment. "I see... so you're telling me there is absolutely no chance that any of these rebels would reach this sacred place, correct?" His words dripped with condescension as he sought assurance.
Gode, ever the loyal servant, nodded dutifully. "Indeed, my lord," he replied, his tone respectful and unwavering.
However, Enel's expression shifted abruptly. His smirk vanished, replaced by a chilling coldness that settled over his features like an ominous cloud. "Then pray tell, Gode," he inquired, his voice carrying a distinct note of displeasure, "what is that soaring through the skies behind you...?"
Gode, initially bewildered by the sudden change in tone, slowly turned to gaze upon the horizon. His eyes widened in disbelief as they settled upon a lone figure, a young man, leisurely traversing the heavens. Flames coalesced around him, weaving together into a burgeoning fireball.
In a frantic attempt to convey the dire revelation, Gode began to utter, "My lor--"
But his sentence remained incomplete, for Enel acted with merciless swiftness. He raised his hand, and the very air seemed to crackle with electrical anticipation. A searing current of one million volts surged through Gode's body, rendering him motionless as pain and despair coursed through his every fiber.
"I have no need for incompetent followers," Enel declared impassively as he rose to his feet, disregarding the two horrified servant girls who had borne witness to this merciless judgment. His eyes, aglow with divine supremacy, were fixed upon the approaching figure of Cedric, who, it seemed, had sensed his gaze.
"Get your ass out here so I can kick it, Enel!" Cedric's proclamation echoed defiantly through the heavens.
