You probably now all this already but just in case, you don’t. Galadriel can read and talk to their minds herself, the ring doesn’t make it possible. She said she passed the test because even though she was offered the ring and tempted by it, she didn’t take it, just king of imagined for a minute what she would do if she had it, that’s her crazy speech. Asking for a lock of hair from someone you admire used to be a common thing in olden days before photos became common. Halfling is a nickname for Hobbits as they’re half the size of regular people. The special Orcs are called Urah-Kia, they came from a mix of orcs and goblin men, so they could move in daylight, they were bred from membranes in the earth as orcs are supposed to come from the earth like maggots. The trees were fuel for the fires to make the weapons. Frodo left because he thought that they would all eventually fall to the ring the way Boromir did. Gollum or Smeagol was a similar race to Hobbits before the ring changed him but wasn’t actually a hobbit.

2023-11-04 22:54:02 +0000 UTCIm about halfway, and Im sure youtube comments will answer the main points but to answer your questions with no spoilers. - the lord of the rings is basically the last chapter in a looong story and the movies as long as they are are like a fraction of the books, Tolkien wrote the story literally from the begining of time. theres a God like big G god, and a pantheon like the greek gods, and angels (gandalf, saruman, sauron and the balrog are angels). Sauron is also just a general of one of the Gods, Morgoth who fell thousands of years ago. That would be really cool to see but WB doesnt have the rights to adapt stuff from that age. - The books were written close to 90 years ago, so a lot of language has changed. But tolkien uses 'black' in terms of the absence of light, seems sus but its made very clear in the sillmarilion that people who are fair of skin (elves) can be the 'blackest' of heart. - Sauron made the rings gave them to elves, dwarves and men. The master ring is basically meant to activate all the others and enslave those who wear it. but it didnt really work as he planned. The elves figured it out and took them off, and the dwarves kinda just got super greedy and went mining. only the 9 men went as planned. - the wraiths hate water cus its 'pure', when the world was created the 'music' of the gods was all around but water was the substance that had the most of it. this is a deep cut lore thing, so its nice that they play into it in the movies as an easter egg. - gimli taking the hair is also a deep lore thing, on the surface its a warrior taking a token before going to war, but in reality gimli was given an honour that even one of the most famous and influential elves was denied.
