How the Story (FOS) Should Proceed
Added 2025-11-17 10:02:54 +0000 UTCI don't know why I only thought of asking now, but I'll do it anyway.
With the ending of the last chapter, the story is ready for a timeskip, to a point where Torin is maybe 15 or 16, which would keep things from getting a little tedious, but risk being a bit shallow.
Alternatively, I can keep going like I did before with smaller timeskips, and keep expanding the story and Torin himself on a deeper level... training, experimenting with magic, bonding with the companions, echo, and others, etc, which might get tedious.
I personally think both options are valid, and hesitated quite bit while trying to write today's chapter, so I decided to leave the decision to you, my readers.

Huh, this really is a perfect opportunity to do a timeskip because I can see it work very well with either 1 big or several small ones. As for depth, maybe an outsider/new member's pov would work? A way to show Torin and co's reputation, what he's made and done during the timeskip from an outsider's pov, like citizens or jarls in different holds who only know them by reputation, a scholar/mage who hired the companions as bodyguards in a ruin, a client from a quest that stands out some way, how he's changed The Companions or Jorrvaskr etc
Definitely not a racoon
