Over the last few months I've followed some of my long-seated interests into historical content and it's been one of the most rewarding and gratifying things I've done in a long time. It's easy to shrink away from the things we enjoy if we feel like we might face judgment, but when you reach the point where you stop caring what others think you can be unapologetically happy. Of course, I do hope you all enjoy it as well!
Today I did my Victorian rendition of the Lofi girl as part of my branding on Picarto. I'm sure you're at least somewhat familiar!

Fun fact: The Lofi girl is based off a frame from the rather unknown Ghibli movie, Whisper of the Heart. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it! I believe you can watch it on HBO's ghibli channel. I tried to keep as close to the source image as possible while still making everything more or less historically accurate. For Jelly Beans (gold tier) there will be an additional post soon with more process shots and a special write-up of historical background references I used for this piece so stay tuned!
So what do you think about chasing your interests? What interests do you have that you would indulge in if there was no risk of judgment? Food for thought!
