Once, a legendary hero fended off great evil. Here he lies buried; far from his place of death,  in a peaceful woodland, wherein birds chatter softly, and the subtle smells of damp earth and fresh pine rise on the gentle breeze.  

His  isolated grave was once a destination for many pilgrims who held his sacrifice sacred, and idolised him as the pinnacle of chivalry. However,  over the years his legend has faded to the cusp of obscurity, and it is  rare for pilgrims to visit. Perhaps, finally—forgotten by the world—his spirit has been allowed to rest... 

Adventure Seed 

• A shady, underground antiquarian has paid adventurers handsomely to steal a necklace from the hero’s neck. After fighting through skeletal  warriors, when they finally uncover and touch the locket they are plunged into a vision. It is a prophesy of a terrible future, which may still be changed… 

• A scrupulous antiquarian has paid adventurers to steal the hero’s obsidian sword—but when they disturb the tomb, the skeletons from the surrounding graves rise and coalesce into a monstrous abomination.  

• Ever since some graverobbers broke into the burial chambers beneath the graveyard, villagers from the nearest  settlement have been going missing. Desperate, their leader has hired adventurers to find the source of their woes, and rid them of it. Upon reaching the burial site, they find a giant snake—freed from the labyrinthine catacombs, to roam the world above…
