It's time to revisit TWRP's #1 chart topping hit, The Hit!
We already covered the verse in a previous week, so if you learn them both you can now perform a large portion of this song. Pretty neat, eh?
Pro Tips;
- The very first chord has a muted note in the middle, on the D string. You can accomplish this by angling your 1st finger so that as well as fretting the 5th fret A string, the underside lightly touches the D string.
- Usually when playing rock stuff like this, if it's not too fast then I'll play every note/chord as a downstroke. This makes things sound more consistent then if you alternate between down and upstrokes. Also, it sounds more powerful this way.
- I highly recommend holding a power stance and playing this song in front of your mirror, so that you'll feel extra cool.
Theory:
For all you note-nerds, the chords here are:
Dm7 - Am7 - Bb - Dm - C
If you don't know theory, this may look like a scrambled message sent to earth from a highly advanced and sophisticated note-loving civilization. But don't worry! It's not going to affect you playing the riff. But do note that the very first chord is one that I use way too often, it's just that good. If you listen carefully you might hear it in Japanquest, Groove Crusaders, and 4fathers (to name just a few).
Tabs are available for download as a Guitar Pro file or a PDF. Have fun!!!
