Here's part 2 of Typhoon Turnpike! Look back a few weeks to find part 1 if you haven't checked it out already. These melodies will make you move and also make you groove!
Pro Tips:
- Measure 1 is in the 6th position, and then you'll shift up to the 7th position all the way until measure 6. The only exception when you're playing in the 7th position is that your pinky will slide up and hit the 11th fret on measure 4.
- The slides into and out of notes, as well as the vibrato are just extra salt and pepper. You don't need to do this, but if you're feeling comfortable and want to make the guitar sing a little bit more, go right ahead!
Theory Talk:
Chords are as follows:
Em7 - Eb7 - Dmaj7 - E7 - G/A - D
(If you're newer to music and these chord names sound like gibberish, it's totally fine. You can learn how to play this without understanding all the nuts and bolts. I just put that here for those who do know their theory and want to look under the hood.)
We'll cycle back to this song and cover part 3 in a few weeks.
Please post any questions about the part in the comments - we'll try our best to answer a few!
