Added 2020-03-19 00:01:36 +0000 UTCSo one thing we try to avoid in the series is DATING it. So whenever you see technology we try to make it fairly generic. I think there are two tech brands we show the most in the series, one is obviously the Banana brand products and the Columbia Brand who makes smart devices like Alli (whom Twilight dislikes!). As a random tidbit, a few ponies can be seen with computers that have a "door" logo on them. We have a fleshed out world, but its just side details for people to see. But again, besides being just generic phones and computers, we aren't trying to date ourselves because there is a lot of old stuff shown too. I mean have you seen how old some of the vehicles are we show in this series? ;-)
Also I am shocked at how fast some people can text.

Twilight's phone is infact a Banana Phone. I bet it would be called the x69 or something... But in newer episodes she replaced the banana logo with a sticker of her flank mark. ;-) Maybe the brand Wellhung should be introduced...
2020-03-19 01:58:29 +0000 UTCThe key is to ditch the Bananaphone and get a proper smartphone with a swiping keyboard . . . or wait for Banana to finally put that on its list of competitor features to "invent" in the next model.
