Take A Seat Episode Discussion

Earlier in the series we had Moondancer riding a robotic vacuum and we thought it was kind of cute. So we upped it a bit with Pinenut as well! It is a more visual humor comic than anything. It shouldn't damage Twi's esteem too much. They do say "DO NOT RIDE" on them for a reason.

On my high school's robotics team, we had a simple robot that we could mount things on for prototyping or use for driver practice when the robot for the current year's competition wasn't ready to be used for practice yet. And we had a seat we could mount on it. This was actually fine if you had somebody sit on the robot and somebody else drive it around; the robot was plenty sturdy enough to take it. However, despite being forbidden to do so, we would sometimes let a person drive themself around on the robot. This is a problem because a) it took both hands to drive the robot (since it had two joysticks and a tank drive control system), b) there was no seatbelt, which made it difficult at times to maintain one's balance without holding onto the edges of the seat (and difficult to suppress the urge to grab the seat for security), and c) if you let go of the joysticks on a moving robot it will immediately begin to jerk rapidly back and forth as it whips the joysticks between full forward and full backwards.
