Saturday Morning Griffins
Added 2020-09-19 07:59:38 +0000 UTCWe have been working for several months trying to fine tune how some Adorkable griffins would look. I think this is our most solid interpretation. Similar to the source material, but with the Adorkable touch. We have long wanted to add them in some way to the story, as well as other dragons (we are having a hard time with them). At least the griffins have a similar body to our pones. The hard part is expressionist emotion with the griffins and their beaks as it is something I personally have never really drawn before and no one else seems to have either.
I think Gallus looks the most similar to the source material. Gabby may be hard because of all of her markings. They may not show up well in our art style. She also has a more curvy body (especially since the pic above doesn't show her stomach... just ignore that). Gilda is more muscular but otherwise seems fairly similar.
Share any feedback if you wish! Do you think they've turned out well? What would you fix/improve? We are always listening and trying to think of ways to implement new characters especially since we never gave Spike wings or introduced a School of Friendship. Any ideas into having them naturally fit into Adorkable-verse? Do you have a favourite?
