We've Been Investing Time...

We've been investing a decent amount of time recently on making SET backgrounds for certain areas in the series.  We in the past hand drew everything, including rooms that were common in the series such as Spike's room or the kitchen in Twilight's house.  The uniformity is never there as it changes on a whim... only the colors remain the same.  So we've been investing in making a "Set Bible" as we call it.  It has scenes from several characters and their rooms and important locations seen throughout the series.   We've done a handful but work on more as they are needed.  We are also making these files have several layers incase we want to use it, slap a character in, or change aspects of it.

The picture above is an unfinished room based on a concept drawing of a certain character's room.  If anyone can guess who's room it is, you win an invisible poster of Adorkable Twilight.

Originally the series has had white backgrounds or simple backgrounds to streamline production and have a simple aesthetic.  But we do like to have nice things in the background too when we have time.  So in the long run, hopefully this Set Bible will allow us to have some nice backgrounds ready to go if we need them.  Of course when we need to make specific backgrounds to certain scenes, we aren't afraid to get drawing. :)

Hopefully as the series continues, people will be able to identify a characters room when they see it, or recognize a street corner in Ponyville.  That is our goal.

Some underground radio indeed, lol! The flag is actually a real flag. Look up Cascadia or "Doug Flag."

That it good to hear! Thanks!

Of course this is the room of the mysterious local FM radio host who's also a first-gen immigrant from Lesotho with some Lebanese blood. The flag is a dead giveaway.

and it pays out! The comic looks lively and it has a lot of personality!

Be sure to show us all the invisible poster!

All the video/audio equipment and specific blue color used for the headphones and eighth notes makes me think Vinyl.
