Best Friend Episode Discussion
Added 2022-01-11 22:28:07 +0000 UTCThis was part of our vaguely holiday themed episodes, which in theory could be used anytime from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I don't believe we've ever said Hearth's Warming in the series to make it more marketable for whatever. lol. Anyways, this episode just plays of the room mates of Vinyl and Octavia once again. I wouldn't say Octavia is purposely deceiving Vinyl, but we all know Vinyl can think a tad differently.
We see in panel two, Vinyl even begins to doubt herself a bit, which we started opening up from her character previously this year. In panel 3, that doubt is masked by almost a smug jealousy, which isn't the best thing to do. Thankfully in the end, it ends with all smiles. Hopefully Vinyl can work out some issues here.
As for their dress, part of the team is REALLY bad at clothing and outfits. The part that is actually GOOD was working on the "9 Days of Adorkable." So it left the admittedly bad crew to come up with outfits. So Vinyl simply got a dress shirt, because we saw her dressing more formally as maybe a male would. Octavia dresses a bit more elegantly with a simple dress and a pink design in replacement to her usually bow. She also lets down her hair, and I must say, I like that look.

I'd say having "bad" clothing designs sold this episode. Vinyl doesn't appear to be someone who wears or even possesses fancy clothing. A shirt (albeit unironed) might be the best bet for her at the time.
