Based on the water puddles, it had recently rained. Panel two, Lawrence holds out a fake flower for Twilight. Panel three has Spike in the background, something most people didn't seem to notice. Panel 5 has Squidward's amazing painting, "Bold and Brash." You can buy a print of it online, no joke!
So this comic alludes to societal expectations and things that are expected of certain groups to do. Not sure if there is any real point to or message to this, but here it is. Mainly just showing the kind of friendship these two are building. Are these two good together or not? Should it continue? Hmmm.

Kinda surprised by how Spike looks. He has seen Lawrence in the Thanksgiving dinner before, and Twilight has suggested to Spike that she's having a crush (after the socks episode). I thought he at least should've accepted Lawrence... but we'll see.

He’s nice and like everypony else also enjoys teasing on Twilights clueless side. (The bird whistling/mating comic comes to mind) xD
