Potential Patreon Discord
Added 2020-12-26 23:15:06 +0000 UTCNormally I was against this idea because I'm terrified of large groups of people, but I figure if I make it a patreon tier, that might widdle down the group into something a bit more manageable?
What u guys think?

Well itd be awesome to have a discord server, but like these fine people have said, just do what makes you happy.
2020-12-31 17:09:38 +0000 UTCSounds like a good idea - to keep it a small and cozy community you, and those in can talk with. The numbers here may be okay for that? (at like a percent of the 91 people compared to say a percent of 304,000 people). Plus, you can always start with introducing it for the higher tiers, then ease the link into the lower tiers when it seems more comfortable (if at all) - and so there's not a community changing surge of people joining all at once. Were you to do this, you'd have to make it a hidden reward though since: A - your aim is for this to be an optional tipping jar (right?), rather than obligating people to, for the reward. B - you want to avoid people forcing higher tips, then feel cheated if you introduce it to other tiers and places. C - it makes a bit more of a controllable number. Making it a reward that's only announced once you're in that tier (like via a pinned message or so) would resolve these. That said, it could also be "a discord where the first link/visble link is on Patreon but anyone can join if they find it, or are given a link to it". (Edited this like a dozen times for clarity reasons. Hope email/phone notifications keep track of those. >,<)

2020-12-27 22:18:52 +0000 UTCI would only do it if you actually feel comfortable with it. I primarily joined because I found myself enjoying your musical talents and really appreceiated your style that way. I certainly like your animations as well, especially as they too have such a unique style. I suppose what I'm getting at is that either way, I'll personally continue supporting for those aspects. If you were to start a discord and you weren't totally comfortable with it, I'd hope that you were getting a beneficial payoff to yourself from it. That is, the discomfort endured and the payoff should be proportional in some way if that makes sense? Anyways, I just certainly hope you don't feel pressured to in any case. Your artwork can certainly stand on it's own two feet. I'll end by clarifying that I have a poor grasp of internet business and don't wish to put any words in anyones mouth. Whatever you decide is your own and thanks for all the good work. Happy New Year from Canada.

2020-12-27 15:50:10 +0000 UTCMaybe you can set up a poll to see how many are interested and based on that make your discussion based on if you are comfortable with the number of people. 🙂
2020-12-27 00:29:00 +0000 UTCI'd definitely join and chat :) I think it's a great idea!
2020-12-26 23:58:15 +0000 UTCI’d love if you made it, but you don’t have to be the one who runs it. Like get some admins and you don’t have to be pressured to talk or even look at the server, since you’re anxious

2020-12-26 23:35:58 +0000 UTCI do agree that you should do what makes you happy and if a discord ever pops up theres always lurking and just keeping it muted.
2020-12-26 23:32:43 +0000 UTCIt will definitely cut some of the size, but I think you will find that there will also be those that get the tier just for the discord and the community. If you truly do not want huge crowds, then I would say to stick to what makes you happy and skip it. I will also say, though, that you can also have the discord server and just lurk in the shadows, letting mods run the show.
