Haha! Don't be too impressed! Everything we've learned about Joseon history we've learned through historical dramas! After we watch the drama we look up the facts and the real history to make sure we don't think something fiction was real. So it's really cool to see when the dramas connect through the history!

Yes, it was Yeon San Gun. Because of the bloody events, he was not given a name as a king. He remains as Gun (prince) even though he ruled the country as a king. History says that he was a good king for the first 10 years, but as soon as he learnt about his real mother's execution he became the monster we know today. You know so much about Joseon's history you are scaring me!

This was a great episode that totally brought them closer together. It showed her a different side of him that she was completely unaware of. It also makes a lot of sense that the officials would be scared of retribution, on top of wondering if he'd turn into his father. I think I remember the king you're talking about... Was it Yeon San? Yeonsangung? I think he was portrayed in Rebel: Thief who stole the people. I remember watching that drama early on and not knowing he was a real king and the atrocities he committed were real. That's a great drama too btw. Combines history with the Hong Gil Dong folk tale.

This was one intense episode! She just had her coming of age ceremony. So she's 18, and that means Prince San is only 19. I felt bad for the prince for getting slapped in front of the girl he likes. Those politicians and others do not want San to be the next king because they agreed or urged the king to kill Prince Sado. They are afraid of a possible bloodbath when San takes the throne. There was a king before San that did exactly that. He took revenge on everyone that was part of his mother's execution. Anyhooooo, I liked the way they played with different lights. Especially for the poem reading scene!
