Nero Model V2 opinions

Wanted to get some feedback as when I did this last time with Piers, all hell broke loose lol. So I'm slowly having old models updated with enhancements and new rigs to make posing and animating far easier and less time consuming and more natural looking.
There is a rough list, but without going too into it, Nero is next up for upgrading...
However the mesh is old and techniques have advanced (as well as skills) since, and as such, it will be a struggle to simply replace the rig as the topology of the base model for his NSFW elements is completely wrong.
The easiest thing would be to update the entire model, new body, new mesh, new rig, etc. The last time I did this with Piers though, it didn't go down too well, and I reverted back and I think it took about 6 months before the old mesh was reconfigured, rebuilt with new topology and obviously costs time.
Therefor, I thought I'd check first before setting up replacement and then going back and setting up repairs. The new mesh would be in keeping with current Nero, but would be higher resolution, but would remain lean and in character as current.
Will run the opinion poll till Tuesday so I can let Cyrus what to start working on as I don't wanna keep them from working on other commissions for other folk.
