Confuror 2019 experience

Hello everyone!

I'm finally back from Confuror! The biggest furry con in Mexico so far :D It was an amazing experience! Lots of old friends and new ones were there, and I also had the chance to have a spot in the Artist Alley. I'll try to summarize my experience and show some photos I took (Yet there aren't many since I was quite busy).

Thursday, October 10th.

The con was scheduled to begin on Friday, however our hotel room was reserved for a day before the con began and so the registration started since that day, so it all fitted in perfectly. The lines were longer than I expected to be. Last year I went right ahead to register myself and there was no line at all for Super Sponsors, however this time it was the complete opposite. While I was waiting at the line I was chatting with Kazan, a friend I got to meet last Confuror and was quite happy to see again. It took around an hour to get my badge and my bonuses for being Super Sponsor, but it was all fine. Me and the others went to get dinner (Carne en su jugo! Quite delicious! A traditional dish from Guadalajara) and that was pretty much it.

Friday, October 11th.

The first real day of the con!... yet I didn't do much, to be honest, haha. I was walking around checking the dealer's den and the artist alley. I especially wanted to see how everyone was doing and what exactly they were selling. Both places were HUGE compared to last year. Now everyone had space and there weren't any problems with how cluttered the room would get.

Here's a general view of the Dealer's den. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the artist alley, except my table and Paco panda's.

After all of that I went right ahead to check out the opening ceremony, especially to check out the guest of honors of Confuror 2019.

It's kinda blurry, but there was Paco Panda, Majira Strawberry, Brainfreeze, Fox Amoore and Pepper Coyote. They had multiple events and Fox Amoore's concerts were packed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to check any of those events, but there'll be another time for that!

Here's a random picture of the main stage while everything was about to begin.

As for the rest of the day, I had lunch with Ricochet Wolf, who I was quite happy to meet in person! I wish I could have done more with him, and with everyone else I met as well, but it really is hard to stay in touch especially when everyone has different plans going on.

The last thing I did was to go to the live show of "Viernes Furry", a podcast featuring Paco Panda, Koidel coyote and Apolo. It's a spanish podcast, but if you want to check it out here's the link to their youtube channel :P (I've participated in their podcast a few times)  https://www.youtube.com/user/FlovingChannelV

Saturday, October 12th.

My very first day at an Artist Alley. Last year I didn't have a table but not because there wasn't a chance for me to have one, but I felt like I had nothing to offer at all. You guys know what kind of art I do, and to be honest I don't think this kind of stuff is big in Mexico. However, this year I decided to give it a try, to make an effort to try to sell some stuff, to get myself known around the new faces and not just the people I know already.

I was quite nervous and I even felt lightheaded at one point by the ammount of people comming to check my stuff, commissions flying by and selling prints and stickers. After two hours I already met my expectations and it kept going! This definetly opened my eyes and made me quite happy and excited for next year. I already have plans as to what I want to do for my table and will start working on them during this whole year (Not just 2019, but 2020 as well).

Here's a photo of my table... though I added more stuff to it. I was still arranging things while the sales kept coming.

Next to me was Paco Panda's table, but the one sitting back there is Paco's boyfriend, Roni the dog! Both lovely people <3

Sunday, October 13th.

Just like on Saturday, I had to put up my Artist alley table there. At the time I was setting things up, the fursuit parade happened, which means I wasn't able to look at it or even take photos of it, but I'm sure there is going to be photos and videos on twitter or even youtube.

Sunday was a slow day, there wasn't as many people around as it was on Saturday, but to be honest that was a good thing. I went ahead and closed up early so I could go see the auction and the closure event.

This was the first time Confuror did an auction for charity. The UMA (Unidad de Manejo y Aprovechamiento sustentable de vida silvestre) is an organization that is helping mexican wolves to prevent them going extinct. The auction went great! Especially when a picture made by Paco Panda was sold at 5,600 pesos!!! The highest priced auctioned item of the night! (That's around 290 US dollars).

Just after that, the closure event begun. Fox Amoore, Pepper coyote and one of the main staff members played a song. The final number for money collected for charity was announced at around 54K pesos! (Somewhat 2,800 US Dollars). It may sound like isn't much, but for us that was a crazy amount of money for charity!

And just before everything was over... an animated trailer made by Jib Kodi was shown and it announced the theme for next year's Confuror... Lucha libre!!! Now THIS feels more like it, and this feels way more exciting than the freak show theme of this year haha. Just to say that I already begun sketching Silver with a luchador costume! I'll post it later XP

Epilogue

So... a whole year waiting for this con and it already happened. I can safely say this was way better and way more fun than last year. It made me so happy seeing how many people got in this con, especially from other countries! Seeing furries from places like the US, Spain, Argentina, Colombia and Chile in the same convention as the mexican furries is just so amazing! And I'm sure more people will come visit us and have a grand time here in Guadalajara and Confuror :D If you'll come for next year, please let me know! I'd love to see you in the next con!

Now as a bonus, a few pics I have lying around of the con:

Here's Kazan! He got his brand new fursuit during this con and he sure loved it! Look at him fat boy <3

Here's another fursuiter I got the chance to photograph... but I do not know their name T___T

And lastly, a picture of a furry conga line that happened while I was at the artist alley. Yes, the photo is blurry, sorry about that D:

...And that's all, folks! Thanks for reading! :D
