Bones S3E9

3.9 - THE SANTA IN THE SLUSH

Comments

I always felt that the kiss thing was to get them to admit to their feelings (no matter how deep down they were) and not necessarily to each other, but to themselves. If Brennan honestly felt strongly opposed to it, she wouldn’t have done it, she would have found a different way around that.

I love Christmas, but I understand why some people don't like it! When I 1st saw this episode I knew right away that certain Santa was the murderer because he was played by David DeLuise ! The actor/director is the son of a movie legend Dom DeLuise and was the most talkative and obstinate Santa Claus! When I 1st saw this I was all for the kiss (I wanted it anyway I could get it)! Now I see how wrong it was to force them to kiss! Great Reaction as always!

Christmas in July. πŸŽ„ I'm not really a fan of Christmas episodes in general. Most of the time they are a clichΓ©d mess of over indulgent sentimentality. I'm not a fan of Christmas either as my family are a bit of a nightmare. We get together only once a year for a single day and without any loss of irony. Arguments, recriminations and a basic level of hostility and petty immaturity always spoils the day every single time with out fail. But on the rare occasion I do like one of these seasonal episodes. Bones spends every day of her working life examining human remain. I'd suggest that her going away is a much to do with her anthropological interests as it is her simply running away, wanting to avoid the disappointment and the disfunction of her family.

The Mistletoe kiss thing was weird and Caroline's reaction was puzzling. As a lawyer, she should know that sexual coercion is a felony.

My favorite thing about this episode was that Sgt. Powell, from the greatest Christmas movie ever made-Die Hard, was the leader of the Santa Claus gang. Ironically, a great Easter Egg.

Wow, so Grinchy. LOL As someone who has every reason to hate Christmas ( both of my parents died at Christmastime), I have to admit I'm still a sucker for it. I play Christmas rock shows almost every year, I send cards to people I haven't seen or spoken to in 20 years, I go see live productions of The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol it's disgusting. I'm disgusted with myself. LOL But I never begrudge those who don't get into it and I fully realize that it chips away at my rocker cred. :)
