HAWKEYE S1E4

1.4 - AM I RIGHT?

Comments

This episode is just so much trauma! The scene where Clint tells Kate about Natasha and then she figures out he was Ronin just hurts me so much! I love that he was never really trying to hide it from her, like the second she figured it out he came clean, and told her the truth. He doesn't see himself as a Hero, and as much as that hurts, it also means he's very forward about who he is and the things he's done. Like, to me it really seems that the only reason he's keeping it secret at all is his family, and also Natasha and the fact that she died so he wouldn't have to in order to give him his family back and give him a chance to make up for what he did during the Blip, and he knows she'd want him with his family. Then of course the moment where Yelena throws Kate over the side of the building too. And the fact that they were playing the same music as when Natasha died... These assholes know what they're doing! Haha I love the phone call between Clint and Laura. Just them using codes and all that so the kids don't understand what they're talking about, and Lila just knowing it's their Dad on the phone because who else would their Mum be talking to in codes and other languages? It's kinda cute, really. But then when Laura told them Clint would be a little longer, their reactions just hurt! Like, we know what Nate said to Clint on the phone call! He told him they understand if he can't make it, but here they were all so disappointed to hear he'd be a little longer, which of course they are, they miss him and want him there for Christmas. But it just shows that Nate was just trying to make his Dad feel better by telling him that it's okay if he can't make it. Also, I've said it before and I'll continue to say it forever. I LOVE HOW SUPPORTIVE LAURA IS! The fact that she doesn't guilt him into coming home before he's finished what he has to do, she doesn't accuse him of caring more about his job than them, she doesn't try to pressure him one way or another, she just helps him out from home, is supportive and understanding, and assures him that it's okay and just understands. Their relationship is just so healthy and I love it. It's honestly the healthiest in the MCU imo. Like, I love Tony/Pepper, but it took a long time for Pepper to truly accept that Iron Man was a part of who Tony was and that he couldn't just give it up and stop helping people. I also just love that she knows everything. The fact that Clint told her about Ronin, that he was just completely honest about how he spent the Blip. (I could honestly watch an entire show just about those two. Like, how they met and fell in love and their lives and then of course Natasha coming in at some point, and the kids being born. Just all of it. I'm invested in this healthy relationship where the people actually communicate healthily! Haha) I love the LARPers so much! They're so fun and I just love how willing they are to help out. Clint sending Kate home and all that was such a hard scene to watch because we can SEE how much it hurt him to say all that. He has already come to really care about her and it hurts him to know that he hurt her, but the idea of her getting hurt because of him is just awful for him. You mentioned him seeing her fall like Natasha, and that was DEFINITELY the biggest thing that made him do it (other than the fact that he now has a Black Widow after him... Haha) but I also think Eleanor has a lot to do with it too. What she said, about how she can't lose her daughter. Clint is a parent who has been through losing his kids before. He wouldn't wanna put anyone else through that. It's all heartbreaking. Speaking of that scene with him and Eleanor. BITCH! Her throwing Natasha's death in his face HURT! And the look on his face when she said that! Honestly, she is lucky he didn't punch her because the look on his face clearly showed that he wanted to... Haha I love all the sweet moments between Clint and Kate though. Them celebrating Christmas and Clint teaching her tricks and stuff. From what I know about the Comics, that was something his brother taught him when he was a kid. Also, did you notice Clint's mug? It said "Thanos Was Right" Haha I also loved seeing that small flashback of Ronin too. I really do enjoy getting to see more of Clint as Ronin. The whole thing is just so interesting to me and I wish we could get more of it... So there's this video that I LOVE and it shows that there were a bunch of parallels between that scene on the roof and Vormir (as well as a couple other things from Endgame and BW...) it has no spoilers, so if you wanna watch it, don't worry about having things spoiled. That entire scene was likely just giving him flashbacks and shit... Haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdJmexr1wtI

If you and Kim do end up LARPing, you MUST make a Vlog of it. We the fans demand it! LOL Another great episode. The Clint and Kate Christmas party was really a nice segment. Jeremy Renner really brought his A Game for that. And, of course, Yelena is here! Now it's a party! The next 2 episodes are, as the kids say, FIRE. I'll remind you again next week, the finale does have a post credit scene.
