The reason this season is so short is the reason all the other tv shows from this year are also short. There was a writers strike in Hollywood that causes short seasons.

I was sad when Zach turned out to be part of Gormagon, it definitely hit me in the feels AND when Brennan talked him through the logic, it broke my heart, cuz he was just so easily manipulated. Now onto season 4!

2022-08-20 03:23:24 +0000 UTCI have been looking forward to your reaction of this episode since the season started. I personally really like that it ended up being Zack. Like you mentioned, it had to be someone who we would be emotionally affected by, and it would also have to be someone who Brennan cares about since she's the main character. While I do think that she cares about Hodgins and to some extent Sweets, we have seen in multiple scenes throughout the show up until now that Brennan really does care about Zack. I feel like Hodgins would have been too easy to figure out. Even some of the characters had already suspected him at one point or another. Sweets definitely would have also been interesting, I just don't know how it would have worked logistically or if it would have had the same emotional impact. I think your theory on why it could have been Sweets definitely had some merit and would have been very interesting. The talk between Brennan and Zack towards the end of the episode reminded me of when the state department woman came to interview them and when she asked Zack a question (I forgot what she asked) and he responded that he would ask Brennan or Hodgins or Angela. To me, that kind of planted the idea that his super logical thinking could potentially be used against him. That plus all of the things that you mentioned when you were theorizing honestly makes me kind of glad (if that's the word) that it ultimately ended up being Zack. I go back and forth on whether or not I think Zack's motivations would make sense for his character, and I'm still not completely sure but I like the reveal nonetheless.

2022-08-18 20:45:13 +0000 UTCThis is the episode where I hate what every single character’s decisions. Zach was not insane someone who is insane does not blow himself up to get away. They should have put him in REAL PRISON a place where REAL CRIMINALS go I look at this from a race, socioeconomic and well connected standpoint. When a person of color especially black men who fall into gang life they don’t get he is crazy and mentally weak they only see a monster but when we have mass shooters who are white all we hear is how mentally unstable they are Zach falls into that to listen to Booth grab Sweets and say he’s crazy and that’s it I wonder how many black or brown people Booth said were crazy. Now let’s talk about poor people who commit crime they don’t get the zach treatment cuz zach hired high priced lawyers and got away with his heinous crimes poor people can’t so they go to real prison not clubmed. Now the well connected/slash blue wall protection zach has since he works for law enforcement they protect their own at all costs even when they do henious evil acts zach is an accessory to murder and other crimes instead of sending him to real prison the fbi, the us Attorney and the Jeffersonian all conspired let zach get away with his crimes by saying he’s crazy when he ain’t that’s why for me every criminal the characters look down on and how they tell them to obey the law and they tell them how it’s going to suck in prison all the while protecting Zach is disgusting they should all get the zach stimulus package. I hated this episode when it first aired cuz of the problems I stated cuz if a black/brown person, a poor person and a not well connected person did what Zach did that person would be going to prison cuz they aren’t crazy just like zach isn’t u don’t plan ur escape if ur crazy. For me the only good characters left after this episode aired and before season four are Clark and Sweets cuz every other character don’t care about catching criminals and making them pay fully for their crimes cuz if they did zach would go to prison. U can’t tell me that Brennan and the others squints didn’t threaten to stop working with law enforcement if the federal government didn’t give Zach a slap on the wrist for being an accessory to murder. It’s why to me the characters and fans can’t judge Max any longer for me I have a favorable opinion of Max cuz he’s not a liar and he didn’t swear to uphold the law like the others did they threw away their oath when it was one of theirs that oath meant absolutely nothing.
