Bones S4E2

4.2 - YANKS IN THE UK PT.2

sorry but Angela is kind of awful. i really dont like how she constantly undermines hodgins and acts as if his knowledge and interests are weird. so what if he gets excited about bugs? also, i get this whole non monogamy vibe that she has but if you are entering a monogamous relationship dont start acting as though you can just kiss whoever you want and the other person has to be ok with it just because youre soooo free thinking and open minded. And then she has the nerve ... the NERVE to tell hodgins that he doesnt trust her? and then... and THEN ... hodgins points out shes the one walking away and she tells him hes not stopping her? EXCUSE ME? what exactly do you want him to do? She acts so high and mighty all the time and it gets on my nerves. What do you guys think of Angela Montenegro?

God, thank you, Angela almost always bugs me (she does occasionally have some decent qualities shine through here and there) but I absolutely hated the way she treated Hodgins here.

FACTS ON FACTS ON FACTS

Her attitude was about zack being connected to a serial killer she is internalizing it while we say that’s crazy until something like that happens to us we would question everybody all over again

John Walker Is That Dude

Angela is so open minded that her brain fell out. I get why Jack-or any straight male-would find her attractive. She's beautiful and seems like fun. Until you get to know her . She's a borderline narcissist. Yes, she's capable of empathy but only until it conflicts with her personal dogma. She demands that everyone accept her for who she is but won't hesitate to tell you what you should be doing. One minute she's a caring and compassionate artist and the next minute one of the most condescending and judgmental characters on the show. It's all no doubt the fault of the writers, who seem more concerned with setting up either jokes or melodrama than keeping continuity or consistency in their characters. These are the same people who are still trying to sell us on the idea that a guy who ritualistically murdered someone is really just a mischievous scamp, because he is our main protagonist's father. So while I do hate what Angela is right now I can't get too worked up about it because they could turn around and wash it all away in a couple of episodes.

I just watched. Yeah I agree Clark is the only one back in America that came out looking good in this one. Cam started off as the mega Boss lady who was about the rules and professionalism. Not sure what they were doing with her character at the beginning of this season. Her behaviour was so unacceptable on so many levels. Mostly with Clark as the other was out of the office so to speak. I'm calling that one of those gender hypocrisies. Yeah they wanted that drama of the work place thing. Parallel that with the upturning of the repressed stereotype of Brits on the other side of the pond. It's just a swingers hottub of sexual politics that they are basting in during this questionable two parter. Clark was the comical highlight for me and the personal life shenanigans are what they are. It's just amusing par for the course with this show at times. It amuses me more often that not. There will be more of those grittier drama related episodes that I'd give a far better score to come. I'd say plenty of them.

This is a little humorous. But I still need to watch the episode first. Angela is is brilliantly written and excellently played. She might be somewhat of caricature of 'that type' at times though. But that could be said about a lot of television show characters pandering to those recognisable humanistic traits. I'm not sure there isn't a main character in this show that doesn't have a litany of good and bad qualities. It's always interesting to hear how we choose to categorise them dependant on our own outlook. I would say she is kind and awful. But like everyone, has the potential to be both to varring degrees. I get that all you're really asking is for the concensus from the group on her actions this episode / story. Ya know I'm not sure I can really become too irritated by her honestly. She's not the apprentice to a cultist cannibalistic serial killer. I found it hard to dislike Zach for that. Which I find more weird really. After that, it seems trivial to condemnate Angela for this. 🤣

I personally love Angela, except for this storyline, it’s like the writers were like, “No, they’re going to have a happy ending too soon, let’s throw a wrench in, stretch this out a little more.” 😒 If this were real life happening, I would tell Jack to run and stay far away, but it’s a show, so I ignore the blips of stupid writing sometimes. I will say, I find her kind of immature in the early seasons, she thinks she’s always right. But like I’ve stated before, a lot of the people at the Jeffersonian think like that 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is why I say when they wrote zack off the show is when the show became GREAT to me the science is still here but it takes a back seat to the human side of the show. Yes Angela is the ABSOLUTE WORST when I first saw this and she blamed all of this crap on Jack I lost it I felt like I was Jack’s friend I was like I know this witch didn’t just say that. When u got mad at Sealy cuz of how he interacted with the people who had that horse/rider fetish u got mad at him he wasn’t truly mad at that he was really pissed at the cheating that was going down at that place. The whole time I was thinking Angela is lucky Sealy wasn’t there cuz he wouldnt let her blame Jack for her cheating ways. Sealy would’ve also told her Jack doesn’t care if Grayson is in town they are divorced the problem is u Angela. Jack entreated into a monogamous relationship with Angela not an open relationship where they can sleep with other people I was disgusted by Angela. I always felt that if u look up the word gaslighting u would find Angela face smiling from ear to ear. This is why she is the WORST to me. A lot of people especially females who have rewatched Bones have come to the conclusion that she wasn’t great she was very problematic people have came around to not liking her. There is a few episodes where u are going to RAGE giving u a little heads up.

John Walker Is That Dude

I totally agree about Angela. She has grinded my nerves in most of this show.... She thinks herself above the others, and she sort of has that expectation that everyone is supposed to tell her how great she is. I wanted someone to bring her down to earth so bad in so many episodes. For me as a guy, she also reminds me of the type of extreme feminist, where it goes so far as to not be about equality, but female superiority.
