Basically Elena needs to stop putting Stefan in some type of pedestal cause he’s not a saint. Yes, he tries to do good and bless his heart because its a hard thing to do since a vampire’s nature is to be a killer. Still, that doesn’t erase the fact that he has done horrible things and is capable of even worse. I agree that Stefan should have been more honest with Elena about his past but I also understand that he wasn’t exactly proud of it and he didn’t want Elena to know that there was a part of him that was capable of such horrors. Which really was not fair to Elena and it could be a little selfish to keep something that important about yourself from the woman you love. For someone who is constantly trying to let Elena make her own choices he really missed a step on that one. Elena should have been made aware of his past and then make the choice if she wanted to be with him or not. At the same time I get that it is not a topic of conversation you just bring up and perhaps he knew he had to talk to her about it but this whole thing just got out of his control. Regardless, Elena needs to face reality here and realize that getting Stefan back is not as easy as putting a bandage on a wound and call it a day. I do appreciate that Damon was still trying to subtly get Elena to accept who Stefan is while still helping her to get him back. Yeah, he was doing it for himself too but I think things would have been different if Elena had not been in the picture. Time for a vampire is not a huge problem and there was more of an urgency because Elena is human. I love that scene with Liam Grant but I’m crazy lmao. American Psycho is one of my favorite novels so that gives you an idea. I just love the idea of watching a character who has been so good in a completely different light and Paul is so good at being machiavelic. Ok yeah, that makes more sense about the hearing since I thought that vampires could hear a human heart just automatically. And since Klaus is half werewolf I figured it would be stronger for him. I guess on 3x2 Stefan was already trying to pay more attention to his surroundings because he was looking for Ray and trying to hear him and thats why he heard Elena and Damon and Klaus couldn’t. Stebekah, ugh. I don’t think its going to happen but I love them. So interesting. I also ship DEfan the most and so any other ship is fine. I dont really care who Elena wants to be with tbh as long as it doesn’t affect the relationship between the brothers. I’m sure it will for a bit and I’m not looking forward to that.

2020-10-20 19:04:17 +0000 UTCI get what you mean regarding Elena's expectations of Stefan and what Damon was trying to warn her about, which she failed to grasp. She still seems to think Stefan is some Edward Cullen type who's darkest period was biting a girl once and killing his father. But Damon has been warning her for a long time that Stefan isn't this saintly character she thinks he is. He has a dark past, probably darker than Damon's. However, to Stefan's credit, he does try to be good. Unfortunately, when he is bad, he is really bad. Elena can't seem to get this into her head that this side of Stefan exists. Admittedly, Stefan ought to have been more honest with Elena earlier in their relationship. She'd never be able to trust him if she'd known the truth. However, I can see why he wouldn't be. He did tell her about when he first turned and when Lexi found him, but I think Elena put that down to him being new. She always could excuse him. Damon was preparing her for a potential nasty shock. She needed to not just hear it, but listen to what she was being told. Vampires are vampires, that is who they are. Even Caroline has this dark side to her. I love Rebekah, and anyone who hurts her, gets temporarily cancelled. Liz has the same status. Even Damon gets temporarily cancelled if he hurts either of them. So if I'm horrible to Stefan about anything to do with Rebekah, it is because she needs protecting. The scene with Liam Grant makes me want to barf. He asked Stefan and Rebekah because she was the woman they were feeding from in the earlier scene. Vampires can only hear if they are intentionally listening. Otherwise their hearing is like ours. They don't usually like using it as it can get confusing. There was the scene with Caroline in S2 listening out for Damon and Stefan getting shot. She had to really concentrate. The same with Jenna and the conversation between Stefan and Klaus. She had to listen hard, even though there were no distractions. It seems to take extra blood to use their vampire powers. So they use them sparingly, generally to recover from hangovers or being hurt. Bill is cancelled. No excuse for torturing Caroline. I love Liz and Caroline's relationship now everything is out in the open. The only truly functional parent/child relationship in the show right now. Guilt is Stefan's weakness. And sometimes the most loving thing you can do is let them go. He's doing it for selfless reasons, but it is time for her to have a reality check. There is Stebekah chemistry, and I get the Bonnie and Clyde reference. However, I ship Stefan with someone else. Stelena were only a couple for 6 months. I share your opinion on soulmates, and I think there can be more than one. I always think Lexi is Stefan's soulmate, as is Damon. But I mainly ship Defan. They are the true love story of the show. I also love Ian and Paul's relationship in real life. It almost reinforces that brotherly bond. I think those 2 are soulmates. Great reaction. I'm looking forward to watching the next one with you.
