I really like this show, for many of the same reasons you do. It struck the same chord with me that Sleepy Hollow did. I only have a vague recollection of any of the main storylines, so it's fun to rewatch. I totally forgot that James Frain (the dude from Orphan Black) was on this show. He has made a nice little career for himself playing villains on genre shows . Besides Grimm and OB, I've seen him in Gotham, The Cape, Sleepy Hollow, Fringe, True Blood, and Agent Carter. That's a pretty good resume.
