A plane crash is much louder than that. I was in Loughborough in 1989 (I think) when a plane crashed on the motorway near Kegworth, about 7 miles away. I was watching television with my family when an unbelievably loud noise drowned out the tv completely and made us all jump through the ceiling. From seven miles away! It was the scariest noise I ever heard. Horrible disaster as well. Just awful.
