This is one of those shows that gets better and better with each episode and season, there is a reason why this show has 7 seasons. The characters and relationships are really well developed, both romantic and familiar... Castle and Beckett's dynamic gets really good; Castle's relationship with his daughter and mother is really fun, as you can see the kid appears to be the more mature one which is amazing to see thru out the seasons... The show has some really really good over arching plots and a good amount of humor, specially coming from the character of Castle.

I really loved the premise even if there were some things that werent as strong but I think its one of those shows that needs a few episodes before they find their footing. I do see the potential though and Nathan Fillion was great! Yeah he's typecast but I'm not bothered by it because he is good in those roles.

2021-06-28 19:42:35 +0000 UTCI was glad to see this was one of the shows you decided to check out. You made a number of good points in your analysis. I feel like out of the "police procedural" genre this falls in, it leans more on the lighthearted humor than most, and is almost more about the characters than anything. Also with what you said about Fillion, that's pretty accurate imo. I tend to put actors in two broad categories: the Character actors who really lose themselves in a role and become another person, and the more conventional actors who are really kind of just themselves in any role they play: Fillion being the latter. So with those two elements in play you're more likely to enjoy this show if you're a fan of Fillion, but I feel like over it's course you can come to appreciate Kate, and the side characters a lot as well. Of course that's just my experience, but overall I just find Castle to be a very fun and entertaining time.
