Elijah cares for Rebekah just as much as he cares for klaus, the thing is in Elijah’s eyes fixing klaus would have a postive domino affect on everyone, Klaus would settle down and stop presuming wrong doings, he’d become more compassionate towards his family he would overall be happier, for Rebekah she would be granted freedom, no more daggering and an opportunity to per-sue true love, as for Elijah he would be able to think for himself for the first time and do as he pleases and what makes him happy rather than do what’s best for klaus or what’s best for family and having to give his own happiness for the greater good to his family, Elijah’s hates seeing Rebekah being punished by klaus and he stands up for her many times but Elijah knows that when klaus wants to punish someone he almost always gets his way so he is warning Rebekah to avoid future conflict between her and klaus
