Another great episode of Buffy and goes to show one of it's strengths, the writing. How many shows can combine the emotional and comedic scenes together in one episode and still make it realistic and more importantly entertaining. Willow is a very interesting character, her growth has probably been the greatest in the series but, as you said, deep down she still thinks of herself as her season 1 persona, the shy not very confident Willow that is clever but doesnt fit in. Over the seasons she has grown in confidence mainly due to Buffy's presense but also her growing skill in magic. Magic is her main strength but also her main weakness as we have seen multiple times in the past. The anti-love spell in Lovers Walk, the let my will be done in Something Blue and the spell she almost cast when Oz cheated on her are all prime examples of this. Oh, and not to mention going all vengencey on Glory after she hurt Tara. Glad the show hasnt forgot all these and it will be interesting to see what the resolution to this is! Love the title of this episode as well, the definition of Tabula rasa is the theory that individuals are born without built-in mental content, and therefore all knowledge comes from experience or perception. Works perfectly with them losing their memories and having to work it all out from scratch.
